Just like to say thanks to Martin for bringing Freecycle to my attention.
It is a brill web site where people put on things they no longer want etc.
The site is nearly as good as this one!
just google freecycle and there will be one in your post code area.:T

Freecycle is fab! I have only ever got one thing off it - a huge box full of classical music tapes, but the people who I got them off were really lovely, and even drove to my house when they found out I couldn't drive.0

Hiya,
Have you gone to Money Savers Arms forum here on MSE?
Scroll down to 'freecycling'. You WILL giggle I promise you!
Some people are so cheeky on FC - the stuff they ask for. But lots of genuine people too.
I love FC, have given loads of stuff away that would otherwise have to go to the tip.
Give it a try.:grouphug: A smile, a 'please' and a 'thank you' cost nothing0 -

:rotfl: yes - there is a brilliant thread on here where some of the *wants* have been posted.
Great reading.

PS Love freecycle - given and received many things. You can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation.

When I first started using freecycle I would of agreed with you but I have since been put off by our moderator. I am one of the members who has everything moderated. I once asked for an old tatty gazebo for my dad to paint his campervan under and it was rejected because I had asked for some old tins of paint the week before ( and no he wasn't going to paint his van with the old paint lol) The very same day I saw 3 or 4 people placing more than one wanted ad.
I then posted an offered for some tickets to Donnington and that was rejected because it would help with keeping the refuse tips from overflowing. Guess what I saw a few weeks later, someone posting an offered post with a link attached to get free tickets for some gig.
I have been extremely lucky with FC I have got some fantastic things but I have also given away a hell of a lot of stuff.
I rarely use it now, I never know if the stuff will be allowed on or not.Keep smiling, it makes people wonder what you're up to.0 -
I joined Freecycle and got hundreds of e-mails in a day, I swiftly cancelled my membership, which is another story. :rolleyes:0

Crikey.............. I got my Donington Park tickets from freecycleI must admit I'm a member of 2 groups, one which can be quite heavily moderated and the other that isn't.
I kind of know the lady mod on one group and they do have a tough job, but I have to admit your group sound a little OTT.
