Bank Staff Annual Leave entitlement

I currently work in the NHS as bank staff. I have received a message about claiming accrued annual leave before a specific deadline. I was completely unaware of this entitlement and I have never claimed it before.
I have previously worked as bank staff in a different area of work a few years back, and never claimed it then.
Does anyone know if I am likely to be able to claim these previous years accruement back or if there's no chance now? It's not particularly my fault of not claiming it when no one ever told me I was entitled to it.

You accrue holiday on all the hours you work but it's up to you to use them up within the current holiday year. Use em or lose em.

When I read your thread title, I thought you were referring to people who work in High Street banks, LOL!
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

You might not have been entitled to it in your previous job anyway. I know the job I work in it has only in the past couple of years that they started paying relief/bank staff accrued holiday pay (although it is paid automatically and you don't have to claim anything).

Depends on the trust, some pay rolled up in the normal pay.

Check your old payslips for any holiday pay.

If working bank and never get to full time hours they could just pay the holiday every month as holiday hours without you having to ask.

it's use or loss - we found out last year about it and the fact you haven't claimed it isn't a defence, their argument would be everyone gets annual leave legally so you should have known - make sure you claim ASAP for all of this leave year
