Has anybody noticed but up to about this time last year, hardly a day went by without someone coming on here saying that some company or other had debited their account with £39.99 or £59.99 after they'd applied for a loan with some loan broker or other?
I can't remember now when the last time I heard such a thing happening. So what's happened?
Has the work of the FCA and the banks succeeded in shutting down these fraudsters?

I would imagine there has been a clampdown, that could be the only reason to explain it.0

They now post rants about not getting the "advertised APR" when they applied for a loan....despite having previously only missed a few payments and having £35,000 of credit card debt and a couple of failed businesses.poppasmurf_bewdley wrote: »Has anybody noticed but up to about this time last year, hardly a day went by without someone coming on here saying that some company or other had debited their account with £39.99 or £59.99 after they'd applied for a loan with some loan broker or other?

I have noticed there has been an increase in that too Clive.
Not loan related but I have noticed a number of threads where the OP cancels a direct debit believing it cancels the contract and then realises the aftermath of what they did when applying for a loan.
I thought paying money to some shyster website to find a loan was madness but cancelling a direct debit in the belief it cancels the contract is just lunacy.0 -
But they probably still have an Experian score of 999 so it's can't be that big a deal defaulting on a loan......can it????I have noticed there has been an increase in that too Clive.
