I believe they no longer offer this guarantee, since going into liquidation.
Google tells me Optimax are shouldering some of the issues should people require re-work, for a nominal fee?
Anybody had re-work done? and got an idea of the cost involved?

We had this issue with Optical Express - OH had eye surgery about 10 years ago, and it didn't work terribly well in one eye, resulting in long-term problems with dry eyes and tear ducts. He had been going regularly for appointments and no mention of charges until about a year ago, when they said it would cost £50. As he'd never been charged before, and I was under the impression that he'd been offered lifetime care, I queried it. The youngster on the other end of the phone reliably (!) informed me that they'd always charged. No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0

Just came online to make the same query.
Had laser eye surgery with Ultralase in 2006, and paid extra to have it carried it with them purely because of the aftercare guarantee.
I paid for it on finance (can't recall the company used) and its all been paid for.
I've recently been told that my prescription has returned and I want to utilise the aftercare guarantee only to discover that Ultralase are no longer in existence.
What do I do now?0 -
Bumping this up as I just realised that I never did get a reply to this0

Bumping up too, need help with this. Very poor eyesight now after treatment in 2006 ish. Have paperwork but not at hand at moment. Really would appreciate any advice. The op itself was extremely painful so afraid to have it redone but would I qualify for aftercare since Ultralase as they were have gone bust? x0
