Help with Leeds BS

Hi there,
Hoping you can help me or put my mind at rest! I have a mortgage offer in place with Leeds BS for a 100% mortgage on a shared ownership property. The housing assoc are now saying that this is no longer affordable for me as the mortgage is solely in my name, and I need to get my husband added. I am trying to get him added in name only, and not taking his income into consideration as he's recently become self employed and no proof of income.
They have said they will need to credit check him though, this is already for a light adverse mortgage, but I am flapping that they may decline him on it. He's no really bad credit, but does have a default from 2006.
Can anyone advise?!

Hmmm, you are adding a party to the mortgage but he cant prove income so the lender will have no choice other than to assume he is therefore an 'outgoing' against your income. Not too good.0

Thanks.
Can anyone else help? I am not sure what credit reference agency they use either.
I have called them a few times today and each time I call they seem to fob me off saying it will be tomorrow or later that day...every time!! I really need to know as soon as poss.
The only reason I need him adding is to keep the housing assoc happy as they now seem think that as the mortgage is in my name only now that its no longer affordable for me...even though they know my husband will be sharing all bills with me!0
