Taking bulk buying to an extreme! Strange behaviour.

My mum has always bought in bulk and my dad has always complained, citing the proximity of the supermarket. But not once does he ever buy it himself! He does use stuff very liberally though which got on my mum's wick, so she took to hiding the bulk supplies. He wasn't pleased about that either.
So sometimes there's just no winning.
My OH smiles when I lug another couple of packs of 9 loo rolls home on the bus.
BUT - I only buy when on offer so it makes sense - at least to me.
I always joke that my bargains - including the spatchcock garlic & herb chicken I've bought today at 66% off - funds my charity shopping.

I don't actually have to shop for bargains, I just like to.0 -
My ds ' cured' me of my t roll hoard..
He came to clear out a small cupboard off the kitchen , in order to move a new fridge/freezer in the space.
He called out from the space to ask if I ' had a bottom problem ? ',and did I really need to have 96 toilet rolls as I lived on my own.
Needless to say, this gets brought up on a regular basis at family gatherings.... nutty grandmaSaving for another hound :j

In fact, I have regular shopping list and a permanent 'WOO' (When On Offer) shopping list.0 -
I think that Tia is when we really do become savvy shoppers
We learn when the special offers on no perishables come around
I've never paid full price for fairy, Persil, Sensodyne , head and shoulders for example but I don't hoard0 -
The fact is that some nonperishables (and bogrolls are one of them) always appear on offer at regular intervals. So (I reason) it makes no sense to buy them at any other time. Therefore I only buy them when offer and deeply resent it if I screw up and need some when they're at full price.

I don't have a WOO list I have a IOO list.
OH said as he looked at my shopping list "Jeez! do we really need 100 tins of tuna?
I said "it means if on offer".0 -
My other thing I will only buy at a certain price is radox bubble bath.
Most of the time you can get it for a £1 but have seen it in sainsburys for £1.60  I mean.......why would you?
I know there are cheaper bubble baths but they make me itch.Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £600 -
One on, one off, one in the wash?
I bought one 500 ml bottle of olive oil at the weekend. I use this every day as salad dressing. It means I have the one-third full bottle and the replacement bottle.
Bygorry, am I fighting the urge to have a half-dozen or more bottles queued up in a line waiting for use, tho.:rotfl:
Especially when they were just £1.49 last week in the Lidl half price weekend offer. I bought four but gave two away, so that's an improvement!Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14

How often do you wear a jar of coffee?
Or wash a can of soup? :whistle:Sssshhhhhh!!!!! I have some very strange habits. The price of coffee is one thing which never troubles my little head as I loathe it in all its forms, from the most rarified righteous beans to the instant granules.
But I agree with others about the regular sales cycles for many items meaning that, with a bit of cunning and judicious stocking up, one should never need to pay full price for certain things.
I have to be careful shopping at the local tosspots metro as they know me well there and tease me if I have to buy something without a yellow sticker on it. Strange but true, me and the cashiers regularly swop greatest YS bargain anecdotes. It's the urban version of fishermen's bragging rights.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
