hi guys hope you can help.....
Ive just got my credit report online and its so much better than last years .. BUT (urghh) theres a debt on there from candid collections ltd on behalf of lloyds bank at a number balance defaulted then it has satisfied (i paid a % to clear account in 2004) its sitting at number 8 (The account is defaulted. You have failed to keep to your credit agreement and have not responded satisfactorily to requests to put your account in order. As a result the credit agreement has ended) Why is it at number 8? shouldnt it of been updated since paying it off in 2004? i did respond and it was all satisfactory hence having satisfied next to current balance.. ? ive just rang them askign them to update it for me and put it in to a different bracked for my credit file and they wont... would a letter help in anyway?
ALso i am having same prob with llowel its at a number 8 BUT i am still paying this debt off at £10 a mnth.. (comes of file feb 2009) can they change this rating from an 8?
my score currently sits at 655 on a scale of 0-1000 i thought pretty good but its not its under POOR (gutted) thats why i can not even get a debit card urghhhh Last year it was 625 but i had so many more debts and number 8's ? why hasnt it shot up by atleast 100?
everything else is sat at 0 or u which are good (according to experian) so why is my score so low?
does anyone know how long it takes for the searches (the p) to dissapear maybe this is making it low?
how do i make my score go higher?
any help much appreciated i am so desperate to sort my credit out..

I have no idea on these - I have never ever defaulted or had CCJs etc but my rating is at 616
Even when I rang experian to ask them to help/explain they just said "check again in 6 months!!).
Sorry, not much help, but just to let you know you are not alone in your confusion!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
The default stays on your file for 6 years from the date of the default. The fact that one of them is now statisfied is good but bare in mind that a default is only just a bit better than a CCJ.
As far as the other (unsatisfied) default is concerned: a potential creditor will see that you have a defaulted debt that you can't afford to pay off. (otherwise you would have paid it off wouldn't you?) :
So in general, a potential lender will not lend unsecured money to someone who can't pay their current debts off.
thats how it is.0
