About to settle £2.5k worth of debts

Hi all,

I've been on a DMP with a company called DFH, since 2013, initial debt being £5.5k. Me and partner wanted to get a mortgage but the DMP would mean I would pay massive interest rates.
I have now decided with help of a family member to settle my debts of £2.5k, can anyone tell me how much it helps to be debt free after being on a DMP and getting a house?

Also is best way to settle my debts through the DMP I use? (They charge me each month) or do it my self? I wanna pay in full so on my credit file it says I have fully paid balances owed.

  • I wish I had done this in 2013. I guess it's too late if I'm looking to settle.
