Sun_Addict said:Boo to having Covid again. If you’re off sick you shouldn’t be looking at work emails, you need a break away to recover wags finger 😆
I managed to avoid them two days running (though I did reply to private messages from colleagues).
I'm feeling a lot better though I've certainly got he sneezes, and DD is better too. It's hard to be productive when it's just me at home on a grey day but I eventually got myself moving. I listened to my Bible app while I did the ironing, then I put clothes away and contacted Nectar to sort out the cards.
I mended a couple of tops, one of which took a while as it was the damaged work shirt which was a bit complicated. It's comfy though so I didn't want to let it go. This evening I went back on the website where I'd traced it back to, only to find they have a sale. The upshot is I've ordered two more! The new uniform shirts at work aren't as good a fit so it will be nice to have these - I get the men's ones and put a belt round which is good in hot weather as they don't cling. As uniform isn't compulsory, I've deviated from the blue we have been given and bought one in bottle green and one in white. Maybe I'll start a trend!
The only other things I've done are a few rows of knitting and a 45 minute walk this evening. Walking was good: I was able to go quite briskly which I've not felt up to recently, and it clears my breathing. Unfortunately DH now has a tickly cough... Also H had been unwell, though testing negative.
Spending:
Clothing £23.10
Things to be thankful for: most of us feeling better, a dry evening to walk in, progress on various small things especially having my work top back in circulation (and off the table), support from colleagues, time off to look after myself.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. Feeling so much better today which is timely as it also happens to be my birthday! Opened presents in the morning, had fish & chips for lunch then went for a walk and afterwards J, L and the dog came round for the evening. We had been going to be the whole family but that was called off as various of us had Covid, but there's nothing to stop us infectious people getting together, especially as we are all on the mend. We had a lovely time: DH had made me a chocolate orange cake so we started off with that and a cuppa, progressed through pizza and silly games and ended up with a long and interesting discussion over a range of topics. They ended up staying around five and a half hours and DH, who kindly fetched us pizza and had to put up with shrieks of amusement when we played that game that works like 'consequences' but you draw a person, eventually gave in and joined the discussion from the other side of the room. He was with us all last weekend so either he's magically impervious or he's going to be the last to get it.
I did well for presents too, though I still have some to come. DH bought me a scrapbook from the wartime which I'd seen in a charity shop and some ginger chocolate, Auntie gave me a £30 clothes gift token, SiL who is super-generous donated a £ a year to my favourite charity and sent me gift boxed tulips with the bulbs attached so I can plant them after flowering, J and L gave me a journal and daffodils and I think they said there is something else as well, a friend called round with a card, cake and knitting magazine, another friend pushed a card through the door this evening, L's mum sent me a candle in a ceramic snail (which is very cute!), DGD gave me a journal to write my memories to her (:))...
Today's spending will be around £9.80 on the fish and chippery and a few groceries.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

As in, it has a zero and by the next one I will be a pensioner.
I also realised that if I add up the numbers on the front of the cards I've received, it comes to 360 - not that I feel I've come full circle. Weird the things my brain comes up with.

A nice day today and quite productive. I didn't wake till just gone ten so I missed the first bit of online church. I felt so much better that I did a Covid test, but I think the swab was faulty as cotton wool clogged the reading and I didn't get any result till well after the half hour (though it was negative). I will do another tomorrow or the day after.
DH made salmon and pasta for lunch and I had soup from the freezer for tea, so apart from the slice of cake this afternoon, I think I've eaten healthily. About four of my five a day, though I didn't measure portions.
We had another walk and went a bit further than yesterday. Just on the edge of town we stopped to watch a couple of wrens in the hedge, then a hare and later a rabbit. Spring is definitely just round the corner, whatever the weather forecasters say. I was fine doing the walk but a bit tired afterwards. Too easy to do a bit much and not realise I'm probably still fighting the virus.
DH for some reason decided to look out his working from home equipment. I wonder if they are looking at reducing the concentration of people in his office? He does love going in (yes, this is work I'm talking about!) and is in a lovely team so for his sake I hope he can continue. Anyway he couldn't find one piece of equipment and neither could I, but we did get a bit of DD's old room tidied. This meant I have my sewing machine out and have braved setting it up. I've now sewn most of the waistband back on the PJ trousers I took to bits while we were away. It needs the ends finishing by hand which isn't a problem - almost anything is more straightforward than battling that machine! It came to mind that there might be something wrong with the timing that needs 'proper' repair, not just me thinking I've not got the knack of it.
Once the ends are finished off I'll have to wait till I'm Covid-clear then buy some tape to thread through and they can be back in use.
I also found a pair of DH's jeans which I'd put aside to mend months ago. He doesn't want them as the knee has ripped and said I can have them. I'm not keen on ripped jeans but these are otherwise fine for me so I'll see what I can do. A bit long, but I'm okay with rolling them up! All this time off is giving e a chance to find things I like doing and spend time on them - things that aren't computer games. I think computer games are mostly to keep my head busy and kill time till I can sleep, which isn't constructive. Now I'm more rested I can apply my brain and make a bit of progress on longer term projects like learning to sew.
Nothing spent today but I remembered I'd signed up to more cloud storage for photos a couple of days ago - around £1.80 a month. I've also spotted a couple of items to put aside for Christmas gifts so I hope to remember to get those ordered tomorrow.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

A second good night's sleep last night and a negative test this morning! Yippee!
I had already decided to check my work emails this morning as I had used them to reorganise a wellbeing appointment that I'd made through work, and I knew the person was out of office till today. I left it till late morning but there's no reply, so I'll have to check again later. It seems to have kicked me back into mild anxiety about anything and everything so I'm going to find some useful stuff to fill the afternoon, including finishing the PJ alterations.
I've also rung the bank as I had an unsolicited call purporting to be from them and calling me by name. They don't know who it was so I've blocked it. Looking back I can see that number has tried to ring me a few times so it may have been legit but on the other hand, maybe not. If they need to contact me they can go through my account, and there's nothing in the correspondence section apart from a note to tell me I have no fees to pay.
Well, the washing is nearly finished and a sleet shower has started so I may have to amend my plans! Is this finally the Beast from the East mark 2 that certain papers have been hoping for, for weeks?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Not a very eventful day. I managed to avoid work emails after this morning: they really didn't help. The washing is hanging up round the house and the gift ordering came to nothing as those items are only on click and collect, and I'm nowhere near the shop.
The wet weather didn't last so I got some bits of shopping that have been on the whiteboard a while. It's now scrubbed clean. This evening I finished the PJ trousers and made tuna pasta for tea. Then the TV wouldn't work properly: DH thinks it's to do with the satellite dish, and managed to play programmes through his laptop for now.
A sent a video showing DGD taking confident steps, so it will be much less peaceful sitting around at their place in future! We are there tomorrow again.
Oh, and Mr T's washing soda crystals are now £2, a 100% increase on last summer.I will have to search further afield and see where else might have them.
Spending:
Housekeeping £7.75 (used my L1dl voucher from spending more last month. It would otherwise have been £9.75)
Household £6
Clothing (cord for PJ trousers) 90p
Toiletries £2.49 (soaps: I've put the spares in the boiler cupboards as I've heard it hardens them so they last longer)
Pets £1.75
