Thanks SA, it's nice she has it to look forward to!
Today, DD's partner, both his grandparents on one side and a colleague of mine have all tested positive! Amazingly, I'm still negative as are the colleagues who I've been working alongside recently. Next week is looking like a close run thing in terms of staffing because various people are on leave and we don't of course know when the 'positive' people will be well enough to come back so here's hoping no one else goes down with anything.
I went to H's and spent time with her and the baby this morning, also seeing A briefly when he had his lunch break. On the way home I called in for some more cereal bars as there's a shop on the way that I don't normally pass. While there, I saw my absolute favourite cappuccinos, which haven't been available for about a year. They were only a pound so I got a couple of boxes but thought on and checked sell by dates, which are next month so I think I have the end of old stock not the hope of new.

Things I'm thankful for tonight: J and L not having to isolate from each other any more! A Covid-free workplace today. White blossom on the trees outside our back door. DH keeping an eye on the weather so I knew to bring my young plants out of the frost. Time with A, H and the baby today.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

It's been one of those days: as of yesterday we had three staff off sick with Covid, today we have six. I spent a chunk of the shift cleaning as a client went home with suspected symptoms. I had full PPE but this variant seems amazingly contagious so we'll see how it goes. At least I'm off for the next few days.
DD says she's feeling a bit less congested (she's on her third day since testing positive) and her partner is just headache-y. Someone I know who is pregnant and has Covid and asthma has got rapidly worse so her consultant is going to ring her... a couple of days ago she was fine so that's very scary. Thankfully not everyone is bad with it.
DH had a rather unpleasant work day yesterday but today the situation turned round as a colleague of his pointed out he hadn't been given access to something he needed. Now instead of looking as though he's not getting something right, it's obvious he couldn't have completed it in the way they expected as he wasn't equipped. As he's new to this department, he couldn't have known either.
The weather's been cold here. We've had showers of hail and sleet! Up in the Dales there's been proper snow. I'm afraid my beautiful blossom may not have much harvest after this but it's still really pretty.
Not sure what Dh spent on groceries today but fish seems to be getting more expensive. We eat it often.
Today I'm thankful for DD feeling a bit better, a friend who had Covid a week ago now testing clear, the special cappucinos I found yesterday, being able to leave work a bit early.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I was too tired last night to write up anything so here goes for yesterday:
It was J's birthday, but we couldn't meet up as they are both infectious. At least she's feeling better.
Car boot sale in the morning, helped by sunny weather, was fairly busy. I bought a bag of three small balls of yarn (£1), three old knitting patterns at 10p each, a very old jug for £1 and a couple of scarves at 20p each. The scarves are now washed and on the ironing pile, and I've looked into the history of the jug which is damaged so probably only worth what I paid for it but it's Gaudy-esque Welsh. I have a larger jug inherited from Mum of the same ilk but a different shape and a denser china. These were made from about 1820 for around a hundred years so I'm glad I rescued it. DH bought a plate (£2) from the same stall which is also damaged but has possibilities for restoration. It's eighteenth century - I wonder where it's been all this time?
It was one of those stalls where someone has bought mixed boxes at auction and sells them on, and DH thinks the seller probably passed over these items as damaged without looking at other aspects. He had lustre ware too, which tempted me as I have some to sell from Mum's house but I don't think it was worth buying more as I can't be sure I'd cover the cost. The vase is a keeper so that doesn't matter.
We spent the afternoon with H and the baby, then with A when he got in from football. DH bought fish and chips for us all (£16.40 as portions are big so we shared).
My flow tests are still coming up negative but I was sneezing and congested yesterday. I'm blaming my beautiful hyacinths as it improved after I put them out in the sun! I did take a tablet though, hence the tiredness later. Today I'm still negative but sore throat, congested, dry eyes, occasional tickly cough, slightly achy, tired... I don't want this with Covid so I don't know whether to hope the negative tests are wrong, in which case I'm infectious but getting off lightly, or right in which case I hope this goes before I get a double whammy with Covid too!
We stayed at home this morning and watched church online as we want to stay uninfected at least till this time next week. There's a family get-together on Saturday, the first big one since before lockdown. Main meal was 'Chicken and...' pie so the fridge is a bit emptier, though I have to admit to throwing out some peppers that had gone bad and some milk that had been sitting around. Must try harder.
J and L are feeling better, but J's sense of taste and smell have completely gone. I've texted colleagues and most seem to be either at the stage where it's like a cold or recovering from wondering what hit them. It's looking as though the worst of this may be past this coming week, so long as no one else goes down.
I must stop focussing on Covid! I've discovered I feel better in the fresh air so I did a bit of light tidying in the garden. It's lovely how many flowers are now out.

I forgot a spot of evening shopping yesterday in which I found oranges reduced from £1.50 a bag to 19p a bag! DH lives largely off oranges so this was great. I also got a couple more sachets of cappuccinos (which admittedly I live off) as they were £1.50 instead of £1.69, and DH got tea.

I've spent the rest of the day fighting off this lurgy, mostly by wrapping up warm and dozing while a couple of Ibuprofen took effect. I felt better for it.
We've decided I have whatever DH had at the end of last week which at the time looked like the side effects of antibiotics.
The only constructive thing I've managed was looking for black DK yarn in my stash, and I can't find much. I didn't really need it: I want an easy project and came across a knitted zebra, but really I ought to push on and finish the baby blanket.
Tonight I'm thankful for recovering colleagues, continued negative tests for myself, advice on growing onions and having enough anti-inflammatories!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

The lurgy - you've guessed it - turned out to be Covid though I didn't have a test turn positive till yesterday morning. I'm therefore off work for at least the rest of the week, and won't be going to the family get-together either. Apart from being very stuffed up and the beginning of the cough, I'm not too bad: very much like a cold. Even the odd aches have gone. Sleeping isn't so easy, though!
I asked DH to get me a knitting magazine so that's £7.99 for hobbies, but there's plenty in it.
One thing I don't feel like doing is sitting up on the computer so I'll keep this short.Hope you are all okay.

Sorry to hear it finally got you. I’ve got the symptoms too, blocked up nose, sore throat, aches 👎I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Oh no! Rest as much as you can - power naps help me a lot. Also plenty of fluids and some paracetamol. Sleep face down or propped up if those help.
The trouble with naps is that the one I needed this evening has set me up to be awake tonight !I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
