Happy World Toilet Day 🚽 😂

I also have a leave surplus and had to have permission to carry forward 17 days to next year, meaning I have 47 days to use up next year. Hopefully will be able to use them up wisely 😁
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Can't believe I forgot World Toilet Day,I was going to bake a cake and put bunting up in my loo 😂😂

Ha ha, I wonder how many cakes get baked in honour of World Toilet Day?! How come card manufacturers haven't made extortionately priced cards in honour of it?

I ended up running 10k, much to my surprise. I think the colder weather - around 6 degrees - and bright sunshine turning Yorkshire rose gold - were both helpful. I'm quite tired now and wondering if keeping going was a good choice, but I felt all right while I was doing it. I did have a handful of peanuts, a hot bath and epsom salts straight afterwards, so as to minimise damage.

Tonight I'm thankful for a text from DS2 on receipt of his cake, lovely weather today and my unexpected athleticism :D. And for another day off tomorrow.

And I completely forgot to mention I've been struggling to get my phone operating properly for a couple of days. Apps kept shutting down or refusing to work with the camera. I was all prepared to trawl through online advice that I don't really understand but I saw mentioned that it can help to switch it off and on again.

It worked. I'm used to having it on 24/7 so it had never occurred to me. :D

I'm seeing  marketing opportunity 😂 well done on the 10k that's brilliant 🎉 Thanks also for the phone tip ,mine is currently frozen on a text message I didn't think of the old turning  it off and on again, I'm trying to get it to last until at least after Christmas then I'm going to replace it with a reconditioned one, it was cutting out on phone calls but that seems to have stopped now so I will drag it out as long as I can, I don't use my phone much it's mainly used for listening to podcasts 😊

It's funny how I never though of turning the phone off when it's such a classic trick! I think I might have fixed te problem, though.
My previous phone was a definite 'drag it out as long as possible' - I was so glad when I replaced it! Worth the wait. :)

I really haven't got much done today, but managed to feel that I have. I put a small Christmas order in on a website I used some years ago but it isn't sending me a link to rest my password so that's going nowhere.

In the afternoon I went for a local walk with DD so we had a catch up as well as exercise and she gave me some running advice. She's also sounding very wary about Christmas plans. I'll understand if they don't want to meet up (even if regulations allow it) so I suggested people family meet in smaller groupings or go out for walks if the weather allows. On the way back I called at Mr T for a load of groceries and a few Christmas presents (with some useful discounts on stuff I generally buy), and DH did a liver and bacon casserole for dinner.

I've paid the CC up to date but there are more payments pending.

I've also decluttered the magnificent total of 10 pieces of paper, which I suppose is a start.
    Spending:
    Household £1.80
    Gifts £4.00
    Housekeeping £33.00

Today I'm thankful for time and exercise with DD, remembering to log on for a work meeting this morning (!), finding a few papers to recycle and a comfy sofa to relax on at the end of the day. And I noticed the end of the receipt has a Red Cross number (0808 196 3651) for people to ring if they are lonely or finding it hard to cope at present, so I'm thankful that facility is there for those who want it, and that there are people organising things like that. It's all very well for me being able to get out and about and into work, but I know there are people who have it a lot worse than I do.

I had to look this up as it's new to me - what a super idea! Thanks for mentioning it SA. :)

Nothing spent today, I had to stay an extra half hour at work so there's a little more in next month's pay. I don't remember if I explained but I found an error in how I had submitted my timesheet a couple of months ago which will result in my owing about £15. Hopefully they will take it out in an organised manner and it won't hang over me.

DH got the shopping today (I thought I'd got everything yesterday but clearly not). I'm trying to reduce the shopping outings again as our town has higher rates of Covid now, but it isn't easy.

So what am I thankful for now? Our continued health, DH's new job apparently all set to start on Monday, a walk around the locality with a client and seeing late flowers, helpful passers by when we needed information.

99p spent on an e-book (it's quite a good one but I'm nearly half way through already).

Church this morning came partly from Romania, which happens once in a while. The poverty there is still something we can hardly imagine in Europe, even all these years after Ceausescu's orphanages which is where the link started. It's good to hear from them and it's pretty amazing how they not only support the poor around them but also find time to encourage us.

I did manage a short run but was hampered by being half asleep, un-breakfasted, rather too hot and running at DH's pace which is faster than mine. The bonus was my second fastest mile, but the downside was feeling rather woozy. I'm over it now, though.

Work was quiet... (stop me if you've heard this before) again. The issue that kept us working late yesterday was much less evident and I not only got a bit of outdoor time, but also a giggle and a dance around the lounge. There are definite bonuses sometimes! It gives a feeling of normality when we can joke about and make clients laugh: I think laughter has been much missed during the pandemic, with some exceptions like Strictly (part of which I've now watched). :)

Good news on the house front: we've accepted an offer for the asking price! I'm not hanging out the flags yet but the lady is keen and has a first time buyer for her house so there's hope.

So I'm thankful for the potential buyer for the house, DH's new job starting tomorrow and nice weather. There are frosty stars tonight!
