Just caught up with you.  Good to hear you're feeling better and getting in some runs.  I'm still chuckling at the thought of the RAF flying in PPE 🤣

I slept for ages last night and as a result didn't manage to fit in a run today. However we had online church this morning, then I ironed enough things to see me through work for a couple of days before a family Z00m call which lasted about an hour. Nice to see them all though DS2 is on nights for three nights from tomorrow which will be hard.

This afternoon was work: not much to say about it apart from that someone had donated some goodies including scones with jam and clotted cream. My friend and I shared one - she got the scone and I got the jam! Someone else can have the cream. It works out well because she doesn't like jam and I adore tiny jars. I did comment that the next NHS crisis is going to be providing care for all the people who've gained weight in the lockdown. Nobody ever donates cucumber or celery, do they? Though to be fair the first thing we had donated was a lot of skimmed milk from C0sta when the local shops shut.

Tonight I'm thankful for 'meeting' the family and for the church having put a beautiful song up on YouTube (I've played it 3 or 4 times) that I can share with friends. Also for a tiny spot of rain this afternoon: we need it very much.

My ward have had so many things donated, Dominoes pizza have been a few times, they brought 12 large pizzas the first time they came, we shared them out with the ED staff which they were very grateful for, I was very good and didn't eat any of it, we have had so many cakes donated too, one of the nurses has a neighbour in her village who has been baking for us each week, we have offered to pay but she won't accept any payment,we sent her a thank you card and flowers last week, we did have some fruit donated too,it only lasted five minutes before it was eaten because everyone is crying out for something healthy 😂

We had a donation from the children of a member of senior management yesterday: gift bags of biscuits, absolutely beautifully presented, and very thoughtful. The scones are nearly gone now. Like you I appreciate the thought but would love something healthy! The same senior member of staff donated all sorts of edible goodies a few weeks ago (including satsumas): she oversees other services too so it must be costing her a fair amount.

Once again I've not spent anything recently apart from the milk bill (£5.40) yesterday. I was on the sleep in at work last night so I'm a bit tired today. We only have one person resident but they aren't straightforward and not our usual client group so it's a bit of a learning curve. Thankfully some of my colleagues have had experience that's relevant so I have people to learn off. Of course things could have changed when I'm next in work (Thursday). Meanwhile I have my payslip and it's looking healthy, which I'll rejoice over while I have it as there won't be a lot of extra in the next one.

I could do with a  proper investigation online for sources of toiletries as the supermarket is limited. I've noticed that some places are limiting the lines they supply. I've also sounded out family about sharing a commercial-sized bag of flour but only DD sounds interested so far. Plenty of friends have told me where I can buy bread flour, but that's not what I'm looking for.

I have achieved two loads of laundry and an hour in the garden today. A bit more ivy has gone (some is trying to come back) and I've tidied up about five feet of a border, by which I mean wrestled with grass and roots of cotoneaster. The cotoneaster itself is nice and the bees are loving it but at some point a bit had rooted in the wrong place and sent up a little forest of shoots.

Still to do: prep for a meeting tonight. I'm putting it off!

We've had internet problems so my online meeting didn't happen. Hopefully solved now.

We finished up some leftovers for dinner so there's now a freezer drawer with some capacity... for now.

J and L came past while out on a run and had a brief conversation as they collected a parcel that was delivered here by accident. They had just been past my workplace and it looked as though someone was arriving for care  - so Thursday and Friday may be a bit busier than yesterday.

With the internet off, I bravely got my knitting out and managed three rows before I went wrong.

Tonight I'm thankful for a quick talk with J and L, some progress made on the jumper (why oh why did I choose dark fluffy wool... though it's lusciously soft) and DH's help with the ground elder tide that's creeping over the garden.

It’s funny how we think unhealthy food is a treat when buying for others. When Mr SA was finally discharged from hospital I bought the nurses two huge boxes of chocolates from Thornton’s. To be honest they did dive on them but they must get so many. Probably at the moment some sandwiches/wraps to grab for a quick meal would go down better?
