That's quite a lot of spending... on the other hand not much spent on food as we have lots in from yesterday.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

So housekeeping this week has £8.80 left in my side of the pot, but we have a fridge full of cheese and dips and plenty of bread/crackers/croissants left over from feeding people yesterday - cook's perks, I guess! Also soft drinks and a lot of satsumas, grapes and cheap veg because I bought some of the 29p bags from Mr T (no cheaper supermarket nearby but that should change in the next few months).
Crumbs, I think I might be up to date, though I will need to go into my CC account in a couple of days to see what got paid on it when I actually could have used a debit card. I was at the self-service at the supermarket today and decided to pay the balance by card as I'd used up the housekeeping cash on a mixed-budget bill and hadn't squared it yet. To my alarm my card didn't work, but then I saw someone had left their credit card in the machine! At first I thought it was mine and I'd accidentally paid on the wrong card, but when I pulled it out it was someone else's so I was able to pay using my debit card (phew) and handed the CC in.
And talking of lost property, DS2 has lost his F!tbit while shopping the other day. I went into three shops and they all checked their lost property but no joy. It could well be gone for good but one shop where I know he had been is still shut so I could try that and the Police before we give up.
No more news on DFiL today but my SiL and her husband are flying over at the weekend to see him, just in case.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

A fairly quiet day: DH went to see his Dad who was asleep: DD went later and he was mostly asleep. It feels as though we're just waiting now, though I don't know for sure.
Both our older children and their other halves had plans to be away and have decided to go ahead and be on the end of the phone if we call them, which I think is wise. They have all been to see DFiL recently and while he's asleep there's no more they can do. We decided to take our minds off the situation and went to see Little Women which I've just reread so I could make sense of the chopping and changing of the timeline and I thought it was pretty good...
We popped into the supermarket (DH paid for that) and I got a screen protector so I won't have to be so careful of my phone. Things have obviously moved on a lot since I last bought one as they are no longer cheapy plastic things!
Pizza for dinner, and I just about remembered my antibiotics, which I'm enormously thankful to say aren't hitting me with random symptoms like the last lot. In fact I hardly know I have them. Even the sore throat is much as it's been for months! Since then I've been cleaning which is good for keeping me occupied. DH has collected his sister from the station and they had some time with their Dad, who woke up somewhat for a while, then DH took her to J and L's where she's staying while here.
That's about it for today.
Spending
Electronics (screen protector) 6.00
MS
Screen protector slightly cheaper than buying online but this was offset by buying colourful pasta that we can't get locally
Decluttering
A cardboard box that used to hold the kitchen scales and turned out to be full of old postcards.
Tonight I'm thankful that my SiL has been able to spend time with her Dad and I'm glad of a warm house and some deep cleaning achieved.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Thanks Wannabe.
DFiL actually managed some breakfast today! I strongly suspect he was rallied by his daughter's visit.DBiL arrived this morning - he is the best support team! - and they have been to see the invalid, done some shopping (our part of the world is cheaper than theirs) and came to us for a cuppa in the afternoon. It must be emotionally exhausting for both of them as they are here one night then flying home, driving to a short break they had planned and are eating into it with this visit, then are back here in a fortnight. Of course we don't know what they will be coming back to: we are all still waiting. It's been nice to see then though and we took them out for dinner which may not have been the best idea as DBiL wasn't feeling well and I had to leave half my main course which isn't like me. I think it's to much strain telling on him and too much rich food for me. I am still havering about whether to visit DFiL: someone brought me the present he had for me which was very sweet but I would like to be able to say thank you. I think I might be best writing a note though as I still have the throat symptoms and I'll only risk passing those on in an emergency.
Spending
Entertainment £2.50 (tip - DH paid for the meal)
Housekeeping £5.72
Decluttering
Small hand cream and hair serum finished up.
Today I'm thankful for some relief for DFiL and for the visiting couple.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
