I've spent hours, (and hours) on that follow-up email. It's just been sent. I hope my feedback might save the planet but I can't be sure. Maybe it will just make life a bit easier for some people, and that would be good too.

    The list:
Washing into machine - done 2 loads
    Follow up email - done
    Thank you email - done
    Bake Christmas cake - nah
Do some gardening - moved some cuttings off the lawn and some tomato vines into the compost, and emptied a fish tank that's gathered rain water and is too big to bring in. It now needs to be cleaned and put up for sale.
Pay CC - two items done, two to do later so the payments show up separately
Book tickets for next week's train - waiting on annual leave being cleared
Follow up annual leave booking - remote access not working
Do some housework - um, no.
Get dinner - corned beef hash and baked beans
Order new studies for friends - they will pay me back but I know which one to order.waiting to borrow DS2's Am@zon Pr!me
Order DVD to go with study. Done
    Put away yesterday's washing. Done
Do ironing and put away. - only if you count an unfolded heap in the ironing basket
    Clean / inventory fridge - I wish
Clean / inventory freezer - ha, ha.
Check when laundry liquid order is due - done and amended delivery date

Apart from that I have been giving myself eyestrain over the computer but I did watch some Bake Off during dinner.

Tomorrow I'm back at work with a course from ten till my shift starts then working through till 9.30, so I need sleep tonight. At least I don't have to go far for my course, and I'll get some lunch and dinner ready before I go to bed tonight.

The housekeeping has been dipped into today as I wanted to push on with the email so I didn't search the freezer. There is still a little left and I won't need much for a few days as we have things I can utilise.

    Spending:
    Housekeeping £4.08 (£5.20 left)
    Donation (the DVD) £15.58
    MS:
    Wombled 10p
Half the corned beef frozen for another day
Lots of potatoes left over too.
    Decluttering:
A couple of cardboard tubes into the recycling.

I'm thankful that I have that email done and dusted. :)

It was too long a list, SA. :o I knew it when I wrote it so I was quite happy with what I got done, thinking I'd do some more this morning. Then I remembered I was on training this morning so no further progress was made, but no spending either.

    MS:
Took oats and a frozen soup to work so no food spending was needed, or any other spending.
    Decluttering:
    None, but not cluttering either.

I'm thankful for a good trainer today (really knows her subject which always helps) and the feeling that after all these years I'm finally one of those who knows a lot of the answers (:D, it's taken a few refreshers and a lot of scraping through the test at the end).

I went back to sleep after DH had gone this morning which actually counts as quite a useful activity: I went to bed stupidly late last night. However it didn't help when it comes to housework.

I was going to declare this an NSD but I've just forwarded £20 to DS2 so he could order some books from his Pr!me account. My friends will pay me back so that should all work out so long as I remember who's paid and who hasn't.

I finally remembered to send in our meter readings. They were due today so I have probably missed the deadline but the good news is the account is £350 in credit. However that could be because the previous meter reading doesn't take into account that we now have the heating on some of the time.

There is so much housework needing to be done! I did manage some before work but there's not much free time till Monday. Tomorrow morning's out, as we need curtains in the lounge. It was all right being curtainless in summer (we are largely screened by trees) but it feels wrong now. That means a fact-finding trip. I want dark cream, DH suggested green but the green in the room is hard to match and I want something warm-feeling and which makes the room feel light.

    Spending:
    Books £20.00 (to reclaim)
    MS:
Still eating from stores - I feel like a squirrel. Still £5.20 left in the housekeeping budget.
Meter readings submitted to avoid nasty surprises.
    Decluttering:
2 pieces of paper recycled, a carton of cream cheese and some sweetcorn finished. Also lots of petals from houseplants swept up and added to the garden and long stems of kalanchoe potted up for DS2.

It's been a mild day with some sun, so those are both on my thankfulness list today. So is having enough stuff in that I've been able to go a few days without buying groceries and thus keep the budget in check.

  • I get what you mean about the curtains...we've had curtains missing from the dining part of the kitchen/diner while I have been making slow progress on painting. The curtains went up last weekend as staring out at the darkness wasn't as nice as a sunset!

The curtain shopping didn't really get us very far. DH saw some that were okay but I'm not excited about. I saw some I like which aren't suitable. I did get a birthday card for my sister as there were some very good ones and she has a December birthday.

I think we need to go back to the curtain shop next week, but meanwhile look on line. We also saw a tablecloth which we both instantly liked (dining table needs protection and the oil cloth we use is pretty but stained). Of course we didn't have the measurements with us.

This afternoon has been work again...

    Spending:
    Gifts (card) £2.30
    Housekeeping £2.24 (balance £2.96)
    MS:
Picked up another shift in Monday
    £2 coin to savings
    Decluttering:
    None

Today I'm thankful for a shift in a day when I probably would have been putting things off at home. Also for got chocolate and toast :).

Agreed, Velvet. :) DH went back to get the tablecloth today (£26): funny how it has changed the look of the room. The previous one was white with little red flowers: this is white with grey bees and suddenly everything is much calmer! :D

Nothing spent today... tomorrow could be a busy morning (I hope the weather holds) as I want to pop in to work early enough to speak to the manager about some annual leave that I need cleared asap in order to book cheap train tickets and return in time for the reunion I helped organise. Colleagues have said they'll cover the shift and I really don't feel good about the extra work for them but on the other hand I asked for the leave ages ago, it just didn't get processed. And I don't want to miss the reunion, or miss the opportunity to do more on Mum's old house mid-week.

Nothing for the money /decluttering lists today but I am thankful for colleagues trying to give me the evening off.

The mouse on our computer 'died' so there I've been out for a new one and some groceries.

DH isn't well so we both lost sleep last night. It's a knock-on reaction to treatment he had some time ago. The treatment had to be stopped because of side effects but now the original condition is back. He still has respiratory/ear symptoms as a side effect of last year's treatment, so it's a bit of a double whammy. I'm at work overnight so here's hoping we both get a good rest. DS2 is also home after a nine-day stint. I think he's been in bed apart from making his lunch, and who can blame him?

    Spending:
    Train ticket £55.68 (to reclaim)
    Mouse £8.00
    Charger cable £1.50
    Household £1.50
    Housekeeping £13.10? + £2.00
    Ebook £0.99

In a rush - no more for now.
