Thank you Wannabe, I've had 2 good nights' sleep now and everyone is a lot better! DH still has traces of something and apparently blood tests confirm this, but we don't know what. A few days off is doing him good and nothing huge has happened re his work situation, apart from a plot he had made about possible changes in staff configuration came to nothing. It was never a given, though.

A positive day yesterday and things were better at work, plus I've picked up another hour from a colleague this afternoon which is at Bank Holiday rates.

Nothing spent either yesterday or today, so far. DH is assembling flat pack furniture. L is at work, J is taking her Grandpa out (DFiL - his health continues to improve and it's looking as though he may eventually go back to his flat) and DS2 has gone in to Uni to work on an assignment. I'll be off to work this afternoon...

Must be the time of year for blood tests picking up things as Mr SA's blood tests have done the same. Fingers crossed not anything bad. Good news about DFIL xx

And the same for Mr SA and you, SA. You're in my thoughts & prayers.

Today:... nothing spent, mortgage totals for last month checked and so far this year I've overpaid £1,038.40 which is more than I'd thought. If I can round up another £200ish this month I will be under another £1,000 but it's not very likely as I don't think I'm due any overtime, seeing as I put the claim in late.

On another positive note, my April timesheet has gone in and is looking plump. :) I won't get paid it till the end of this month (if I've worked that out properly) but as I noted a few weeks ago, I could just get two lots of payments at once.

DH has finished assembling the bookcase and it looks super: most of the original books have fitted back in, though there are quite a few that haven't. Tomorrow I'll see what I can find to let go of... I've already spotted one for my sister and a couple of ones from the children that nobody ever really loved.

Nothing to report in spending, money saving or decluttering today. I'm grateful that the heavy workload of a few days ago has calmed down, I have two days off coming up and I had two good nights' sleep. :) I'm also grateful for a quiet evening tomorrow, it will be lovely to be at home for a change!

It's back: Cherry's Tuesday list. Needed, as I am of course procrastinating but I have this time to use and I may regret it if I don't.
It's yet another chilly day here: not freezing but not what I was hoping for in May. Might as well bring back the daffodils, they'd last for weeks in this weather - 8 degrees! *Shakes head*.
So DH is at work, DS2 has gone to a training day, A and J are off having a run and then travelling to a concert before J returns to work tomorrow.
Here's what I would achieve if I really tried:
    quiet time
    piano practice
sort some books to give away (a couple found so far)
    pair up stray socks
do ironing, and more ironing (it got sidelined while the room was in the main throes of decoration)
    shopping
finish baby blanket for great nephewfeed the houseplants
buy pondweed for the fish tank (and if I can get that, I will clean out the tank too)

To my surprise, I've done most of today's list (actually, yesterday's). The ironing remains. I did a load of washing too but it had to dry indoors as it's been showery. I even did some piano practice, and mended a bag that I used to use for my medication: now it's back in action I have a bit more space in the bathroom. However, emotionally it's been a sad day, with nothing I can pinpoint apart from guilt at not getting started till late. I do feel better for seeing that the list is licked into shape, though.
I've updated the decluttering thread for the first time since I think 17th April, which is as well as I am risking losing track. Money-wise I've sorted out last week's and this week's money which got all mixed up due to using my CC to pay for groceries while I was away. I've paid the CC up to date too.
    Spending:
Pets (fish food and pond weed) £6.99
    Housekeeping: £14.12
    MS:
Mended the bag for medication, which was about £7 originally and, I thought, overpriced. I bought it because it was exactly what I needed so at least I'm getting more like my money's worth now. :)
10th coin savings £1.40 due to having lots of change.
    Decluttering:
6 books and a pair of trousers - I'm finding books I'd forgotten I owned as I sort through the ones that are going in the new bookcase.
Today I'm thankful I can once again find jammie Wagon Wheels in the shops - marked 'new', which means they did indeed take them off deliberately, and have somehow tweaked them. I think I'm about the only one who cares, but I do like them a lot!

Well, that was an expensive morning! That's private dentistry for you: check-up, two x-rays, scale and polish = £126.00. The tooth I was worried about is okay, apparently, but a filling on the other side is starting to deteriorate so I have another appointment to look forward to.
Then to console myself for the expensive morning, I meandered round some shops and bought myself a recipe book in a charity shop, so I need to redouble my efforts to reduce the books I already have.
Tea tonight will be pie to use up Sunday's gammon and a bit of chicken from the freezer, so that's quite MS.
In not-so-good news, I came home to a phone call to say DFiL has had two choking incidents: he's okay now but is going to have to have pureed food as he's at high risk. I was glad I'd flagged that up back at his assessment - which reminds me they are supposed to have got back to us by now.
