urghh i could scream

i have a few debts...

2 of wich are to egg i pay lowell for one egg card just started with them have been with so many different companys ...

then the other egg card has also been to lots of different companys i have allweays been paying £10 a mnth for both cards...

ive just had a letter from capquest so i rang them and a snotty woman answered said i have to pay £30 minimum a mnth (i owe £485).. i told her ive been paying £10 a mnth for the past few years with no problems... then i said to her will they accept £250 to close the account she said no the least they will accept would be £380 so i went on to say ok then explained my situation and said £10 a mnth or nothing then she said but you just said you could pay of £250 i said yes by getting a loan to pay it but because you wont accept the £250 theres no way im going to take a loan out pay you £250 then carry on with £30 a mnth... i couldnt afford it, blah blah so she said £20 mnth i said no £10 then she said i will be insctucting our solicitor i said bring it on then hung up..

urghhhhhh what do i do now? apart from wait .....

    not sure really. Have Lowell passed on one of the debts to capquest? I know that they can review their agreements, but if you haven't got it you haven't got it.

    Do you have any way of paying them the £10 - if so, just start paying them that, and even though they will continue to ask for more, the fact that you are showing willing to pay the balance off, even if it is less than they would like, might eventually get through to them! ALso if it does go to court, and you can show that this is what you can afford to pay - the judge will have no patience with them for not accepting it.
    Good luck - it is horrible when they are being arsey!

  • yeah i allrerady said to the snotty woman the court will see in my favour anyway... i got a feeling they will just pass me back to egg anyway... i have no way of paying them, i dont have no standing order details (which is how i pay all my debts)
