Qualifying NI payment

in Cutting tax
Hi,
In April I will receive a redundancy payment including PILON. The PILON is subject to tax/NI & comes to £8805.
I may well not go back into employment after this time leaving this as my only pay for the tax year.
I believe the upper earnings limit is £3750/month, so does that mean I will have a part qualifying year for NI of 3750/5876 of a year?
Thanks
