Odd email

I just had a really odd email.. addressed to an email account I hardly ever use. I used to used that one for comps but switched to gmail a couple of years ago ?? It has my name address and phone number correct ? The order information bit is a clicky link. Search doesn't find any Bob Marle links at all ??

It's worrying that they have my full address and phone number. How did they get it?

Probably from a data breach according to this blog article

Hi all,

I also got one of these e-mails this morning. It is, essentially, malware. The e-mail also contained my address and mobile phone number. I suspect that someone sold a hacked database of contacts once and this is an attempt to garner further information - i.e. bank details - but it can be safely ignored. I imagine that everyone in that database has received a similar e-mail. Just delete the it.

Incidentally, there is a useful website where you can input your e-mail address to check if your details have been compromised in a data breach:

Further, if you want to check any attachments you receive in future, right-click then Save the attachment (i.e. don't open it) and upload it to the following website which will then scan the attachment using multiple virus scanners:

https://www.virustotal.com

I also got the same e-mail today!

Anybody purchase from Liz Earle on line, as it looks like they have taken details off the website and put it on this e-mail??
