Lowell - Provident Loan enquiry

Hello All,

Lowell are alleging I owe £279 and some odd pence to them for a debt to Provident.

This debt goes back to April 2009 and Lowell claims there was a payment made in August 2011.

Now, I had never heard of Provident until Lowell contacted me last year about this.

Initially I asked for proof of debt. On my last call (this week) they said that it was sold to Buchanan, Clark and Wells and then to them. They also stated that as it was 2009 Provident do not have any paperwork.

My argument is that I never took out the loan and they are saying I did - I asked them for proof, they can't provide.

Is this something I can ignore?
