Spudwud they obviously think they can and they are i have it in writing this morning.......!!!!!!!0 -
I forgot to mention that the other illness if you read my earlier post is as yet not known, I have been to hospital for 6 different tests some very distressing and i have another 4 to have done in the next two months. All the doctors are saying is they are testing for everything and that includes cancer and ms. You may thing that having a mental breakdown is not an illness well that is where you are so wrong. For the first 3 months after my breakdown it was so severe i couldnt even remember my own name, I trembled and shook uncontrollably, I constantly sobbed and nothing could console me,i darent go out or answer the door and wouldnt even go downstairs, I had completely lost it. This is an illness that you cannot control and as for realising your priorities and paying your bills, I didnt even know what a bill was, if you can not make your brain work then you are unable to sort out anything for yourself it is as simple as that. It has been very hard but I didnt just decide to have a nervous breakdown and it wasnt just the death of my father that brought it on, it was a series of events over 2 years, which included loosing my baby, being attacked in my own home, and finding out my best friend had had a fling with my husband about 3 years ago, and between her and her husband have been scheming over the past 3 years to get their own back on my husband but by using me in the process, which entailed her husband trying to kiss me and grope me everytime anyone turned their back and me being a stupid trusting person, didnt tell my friend because I didnt want to upset her.Little did i know it was all a game to get at my husband, overnight i lost the two people i trusted the most just three months after burying my father who was my rock and who I loved dearly I guess you could say it was just one thing after another until bang it hit me.such is life!!!0

From their point of view, as well as yours, if there's a good bit of equity, they can be the good guys without risk, even if prices drop.
Thanks for the advice but I tried that one at the beginning they said they didnt take peoples individual circumstances into account it was their policy and they would not spread the arrears over the rest of the mortgage term or any other suggestion I have made to them.. they wont budge honestly i just wish you people could see the letters i have in front of me.0 -
I thought I best say that some of you probably dont think I have much of a mental illness either, because I come on put posts on this board, that is because i am getting better every day. But I still have more bad days than good. that is the reason i havent been on for a while to respond to your advice and not that i dont care or cant be bothered, because i do care and i appreciate all the advice everyone has given me thank you LMS.:A0

nearly a million people are struggling to pay their mortgages and another 1.8 million people say they have hit problems at least occasionally. I think that is a tadge more than your 1 in 950 if you read the daily mail today front page....0

So if they were all taken to court for being a single month in arrears, that would make 1.8 million repossessions!I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Little Miss Spender, please take care. My thoughts and best wishes are with you and yours. I cannot believe how heartless these mortgage companies are being.0

I cannot believe how heartless these mortgage companies are being.
When you purchase a house with a mortgage you take on responsibilities. If you fail to meet those responsibilities then there are consequences. Every body in this position can give you a sob story and it isn't something you would want to wish on anyone because it is not pleasant. However, it is avoidable either by not overstretching yourself in the first place or protecting your self with insurance for unforeseen events.
The lender has a responsibility towards other borrowers and its shareholders and staff. If they let people off with not paying their mortgage it puts the financial security of the lender at risk. So, jobs will go and products will be less competitive. It hits the profitability of the company and the share price will suffer. In turn that will hit the performance of investments and pensions.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. If they have agreed to you paying £50 a month off your arrears then a court won't grant a repossession provided you are keeping to the agreed schedule.
I think you need to post some of the key information from those letters. One month of arrears being paid back at an agreed rate, will not grant a lender a repossession, particularly if the total amount outstanding by the court date is going to be less than a months arrears.
There must be something else in those letters that is missing from the information you have posted. If you need advice deciphering the letters, maybe you should go to CAB or similar.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Miss Spender
I think most of recognise mental illness is very real and potentially debilatating, afterll a brain is merely a collection of billions of cells which are made of water, carbon and so on, which means it can malfunctuion just like a lung or a car for that matter.
There are 2 ways people can advise you;
1) Is what I would term false help, that is people who dish lots of sympathy your way but dont actually help you solve your underlying problems which means you will suffer again and again possibly
2) Give you honest frank advice which sometimes hurts but at least atrtempts to solve the 'real' issue.
So here goes; We all suffer terrible times at some point or another where it seems many loved ones are ill or dying, and at the same time the car breaks down, and your partner threatens to leave and you fall out with a neighbour etc etc.
THE POINT IS THIS; You will cope better by a) expecting those tough times and so putting money aside for the inevitable
b) By not over spending and not being conned by the Kerry Catona 'Mums gone to Iceland' types into being parted with cash for completely meaningless collections of atoms (plastic toys etc)
c) By not making too many bad choices. For example if you go to a rough pub you might end up with a rough partner - and everything that flows from this such as rough freinds etc
It took me a long time to really understand that we all do have choices to make each day and that those choices lead to the outcomes we experience.
If I play playstation all night instead of excercising I get fat. If I read hello Magazine instead of Nature - I learn nothing.
If I watch soaps and shopping channels instead of BBC2 documentaries - I learn less.
So best of luck and I hope you get better, but please do focus on the tiny seemingly insignificant choices you make and you might find your life outcomes will be better.0
