Click2Win Captchas

Options
Anyone else getting Captchas on certain click 2 win sites?

I keep on wondering if it's something I've done that make them appear (On computer settings, not just general behaviour etc...), and if there's a way to get rid of them.

Yeah I got them on lots of sites last couple of days. Only they wouldn't load on iPad just hung so I gave it up as a bad job.

It's pretty annoying, makes doing them even more tedious than it was before. Why do they have to make it so hard to see what it says?

Its always been that way - the CTW's sometimes have periods when they put captchas on. Sometimes they appear after you have done a certain number on the site. Some have them on all the prizes, some have none. Then sometimes they disappear again altogether.

Many people think it is fairer if there are captchas as it stops automated entries.

And yes it does slow you down but I then become a bit more selective in the ones I enter rather than clicking away madly
  • I just close the site and go onto the next one, I never get through all of the sites anyway so not really a hassle for me

I am having trouble with the captcha words not loading, not sure why, it has never happened, so I have just stopped doing them now I don't know if it is a temporary glitch so I'll try again tomorrow, not much else I can do when the captcha word is just not leading at all.

It's only really the "big" sites that have them, the ones with 12 pages of comps (Win Something, TV Choice etc).

Pretty much none of the smaller sites have them

If I don't turn off the Referrer Control add-on on these sites, the captcha displays an error message but you can still click submit and the entry is accepted. I always turn it off though because I presume such an entry would be invalidated...?

This is my tip for avoiding the C2W captchas. So you only need it for: Win Something, Yours, and the bigger magazines - at the moment, anyway. It takes a bit of practice, but it totally works.

After I click on the box that says, "Enter This Competition" I quickly move my curser to the right place ready to click on "Continue" as soon as it appears, or even slightly before. As long as I time it right, it takes me straight to the "Congratulations" message - without my having to do a captcha. It's harder with the Bella ones, as the 'Continue box' is in a different place. And it doesn't seem to work with Key 103, when they ask a survey type question.

If you try this, don't give up too quickly. Once you have the timing right, it saves a lot of time.

I don't suppose it will last very long, but at the moment none of them seem to be requiring captchas.
