Time to change mortgage

Hi
I currently have a mortgage with Northern Rock. I've had it for 2 years and at the time i took it out i got help with costs but this was over 3 years so if I move company I have to pay half of this back.
They are offering me a three year fixed at 5.59%, again they are offering help with costs but I made sure to check this time that if I leave in 3 years time I wont have to pay any back, which they confirmed.
I was just wondering if a fixed mortgage is the way to go, what other options are available? I have 57k left to pay.
Thanks

Hi I'm new to this I can't find where to post a new thread so I'm having to put it here.
I have a mortgage with yorkshire building society and come out of the fixed rate in may next year, My partner has an IVA and so is not currently on the mortgage. His IVA will finish in february. I am worried about the mortgage as my salary has dropped considerably and so may need my partner to go on the mortgage with me but we may have problems as the IVA stays on his credit history for 6 years. Any help?0 -
