Items shown in house magazines not being available to buy

This happened to me before, I saw an item in a magazine that arrived today, i.e. the April edition and, when I looked it up online, there's no sign of it as for sale in the shop.

Do you think the magazines are ahead of the shops, i.e. they know what's going to be available in April? If this is the case, I think the stores lose out as I forget to look for it later on whereas, had it been available, I would have purchased it. O.k., it saves me money, I suppose but it's quite frustrating.
