Help: Tax Code changed to K42 and knocked £300 off my salary. I don't understand?

1100L is the standard tax code a lot of people get (personal allowance £11000 with nothing deducted and no other allowances) but as you say your code is 1106L there must be other entries?
Is there a section for last year (2015:16) as you really need to know where the £8100 has come from.
Can you still see a breakdown of K42 or has this gone now?0 -

£9000 suggests salary in 2015:16 of approx £49000, is that roughly correct?
Now you seem to have changed your code for this year (2016:17) what is your code for 2017:18, is the £8100 still included?0 -

Think you've exhausted what you can do online.
You need to ring HMRC to sort out the £81000 -
Thank you Dazed for your efforts, I hope you have a great year.0

Seems a bit pointless retrospectively editing all posts to "Tax code was wrong".
How did HMRC make the mistake and how did they justify it? (ie what was their excuse?)0
