Yesterday was expensive. Needed bag of cat food which was £32 as he is on special diet. Normally lasts him 6-8 weeks though. Then got us some bits for lunch and tea from m&s which was about £19. Needed some bit from boots - toothpaste, pre-preg vit tablets, tampax, plasters etc so think that was about £23. Tried some black trousers on in town as have posh meeting tomorrow so can't wear jeans but have put on so much weight I just looked awful. Going to have to do something about that. Anyway, didn't buy anything and instead came home upset!!
Took B's nephew to crazy golf so that was £16. Then took him for cake. Why is it kids always want the biggest slice of cake?! £3.95 for a slice!! Anyway. Total at cake place with drinks was £13.30. And we had a great afternoon with him. £20 on petrol on way home. All above divided by 2 but still expensive day overall.
Today we have to do proper food shop and also get a new toilet seat as B has managed to break the one in the guest bedroom en suite. Seat will come out of house account and food shop shouldn't be too bad as I am out tomorrow night and then with work thurs night (meal and drinks fully paid for by work).
Currently watching escape from alcatraz on netflix as never seen it before and then to B's mum's at lunch to see the kids.0 -
Did "big" shop today - another £70/2. Included things like loo roll, kitchen roll, sandwich bags, coffee. Still don't know how it adds up to so much. Though B was looking to buy some cereal at £4.70 a box! So convinced him to get own brand instead so he was able to get 2 boxes for same price.
Then £32/2 in b&q on a toilet seat and firelighters. Was more than that but had a voucher for £5 off and it comes out of house account.
Given plans we have this month, don't think it is going to be frugal.0 -
Gah! Had big meeting then went out with friends. They didn't want to go for food so we just had drinks. I left early because B had had a bad day at work and was picking me up so didn't want to leave it too late for him to have to collect me. Think I owe about £20 for drinks. Only had 2 glasses of wine but feel awful today. And we ate one of the dinners so now need to buy another dinner!
And my maid of honour announced last night she's moving to australia for a few years - arghhhhhhhhhh - she is one of the only women I get on with!!!!!!!0 -
Sad news about your MOH (well, fantastic for her but not so fantastic for those who will be missing her!). Perhaps you can use it as an excuse to get over to Aus though? I was never that fussed about going to Australia but then I met a guy who lived there (when I was younger, gullible and had disposable income), I ended up moving out there for 4 months.. I worked and lived in Melbourne and it was my favourite place ever! I do really recommend it!

oh my gosh - might have to pick your brains as that is where she is going to!!! Yes, it is fab for her and I am genuinely pleased and excited for her but also very sad! But will def go and visit.
Yes, thank you B is back at work and we've just been for a run together so feeling a bit better about things. Do find it really clears the old head.
Friends told me not to worry re drinks and to just get them one next time. So that's good. Spent nothing today as took lunch in from stores and we are having dinner from stores too. Will have to get another dinner for tomorrow night from shops however.
But a good frugal day0 -
I could talk for hours about Melbourne, it was truly a great place to live (I was also lucky that my Aussie boyfriend lived in a big warehouse conversion house and I didn't pay rent, most trendy place I'll ever say I've lived). Definitely pick my brains if you want any recommendations!
I find cycling clears my head, I don't know how you runners do it! I get stitches where my appendix used to be when I run! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
spent 21.26/2 in WR the other night as we had no food. Also included diet coke for me and normal coke for B plus a cake for when my friend was due to come over today.
Spent 2.65 in c0sta yesterday on a coffee with a friend. But that was from the small amount of cash in my purse which I had meant to pay into the bank. So kind of not counting it!
Last night was a work night out but fully paid for by work. Horridly hungover today. Had flu jab today, again paid for by work. My work is really good with benefits etc actually.
Spent £4.22 in m&s on lunch for today, then £5.99/2 on a diary for kitchen windowsill - needed to organise ourselves!!! Then £14.04/2 in c00k on dinner for tonight. Normally on a friday we'd have a take away at £21.50 or go out so that spend isn't too bad.
Do need to try to rein it in - we have someone coming out to look at our granite wall (which is cracking) next week so going to need to pay for that and remedial works.0 -
Yesterday spent £11/2 on lunch stuff from m&s. Still have a salad left over for today. Then £30/2 on fireworks for tonight. B bought me a coffee from a beach hut. Spent £26 on a jumper in m&s but that was with a gift voucher B's mum got me for my birthday so doesn't really count.
Went into town for friend's 30th. Wish I hadn't. Had a massive panic attack and had to get B to pick me up about an hour and a half after I arrived. Though it was free at least.
B spent in WR last night on food for himself as I was out though I ended up coming home and sharing it! And stuff for me to make some chocolate popcorn bark for his mum's bonfire party tonight. So sort of a free tea (well not really when you count cost of making the bark plus fireworks!!)0 -
£67.62/2 in WR but for that we got about 18 pieces of good quality fish which was on offer so has gone in freezer, 3 packs cereal, all on offer, j.pots and 4x tins beans, milk, loads of cheese and ham for sardines next week, veggies to go with meals (fresh and frozen), chips etc. So think we won't need to do much of a shop next week (unless we get fed up of fish!!)0
