You could try their 2015 manifesto.
    http://www.ukip.org/manifesto2015

    Selected excerpts;

    • Abolish inheritance tax
    • Raise the personal allowance to at least £13,000
    • Introduce a new Diverted Profits Tax targeting large multinational corporations using aggressive tax avoidance schemes.
    • Save £9 billion a year in direct net contributions to the European Union budget by leaving the EU
    • Reduce the overseas aid budget
    • Replace the Barnett Formula
    Take your pick.:)

Most of those seem designed to appeal to elderly Tories in the Home Counties. I can't see inheritance tax being much of an issue in Stoke and I wonder how many UKIP voters have even heard of the Barnett Formula.

For a party with UK in their name they seem to be doing everything they can to break up the United Kingdom. They may as well call themselves the English Isolationist Party.
  • UKIP came second (just), their biggest problem is that the Tories are riding high in the polls and in another time we could have expected a GE being announced by May on Tuesday, its not that easy with this fixed term, but not impossible.
If Labour continue its downward spiral in the polls and Corbyn sticks it out then come the Leigh by-election (assuming Burnham wins the mayoral election) then they may well gain another seat.
Interesting to note that David Miliband was highly critical of Corbyn this week and wouldn't rule out a return to UK politics.

I bet most Labour MPs would agree to a general election. Corbyn would have to resign if he lost a general election.

Knowing they would probably lose their seats is a good reason for hanging on in the hope that Corbyn realises he will destroy the Labour Party, which eventually will happen.
Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.

I always liked the National Alliance for Zero Immigration Party as a name, myself.

End unskilled immigration for 5 years
Need to pay tax & NI for 5 years to gain access to the NHS & welfare as an immigrant
    Lower benefits cap
    Cheaper and more childcare
    Reopen coal mines

Generally issues that are popular with the 'white working class' (and the black working class for that matter).

How many of these white (or black) working class would be willing to work down a coal mine? I come from a coal mining family and I know it's a terrible job is. You couldn't pay me enough to go down a pit for a shift.

Even if we could find a way of economically and environmentally sustainable way of reopening them we'd have to import the workers from abroad.

The remaining coal-fired power stations in the UK are due close by 2025. They need to be shut to reduced carbon emissions. Coal releases twice as much as natural gas.

The list is a list of UKIP policies.

Anyone that thinks that coal is the fuel of the future needs their head examined. It's not just the CO2 emissions, burning coal produces fly ash, NOx and SO2, which to some extent at least can be scrubbed out in the chimney in fairness, and heavy metals like mercury and arsenic which cannot.
