    You need some proper advice:
The Acas helpline number is 0300 123 1100. It is available Monday 8am-8pm, Tuesday 8am-6pm, Wednesday to Thursday 8am-8pm and Friday 8am-6pm.
Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.

If your role will exist at the new office then there is no redundancy - jobs become redundant not people. As the office is only moving 14 miles, this is considered easily commutable. The fact that you have chosen to live 17 miles from your current office is just that - your choice.

If your employer is determined to move, they will do so, you cannot stop them. Even if there has been a breach of contract, you will get little out of this if it is proved and Employment Tribunals are expensive to bring a case to.

If you have decided that you wish to terminate your employment, then the best you can do is to try and negotiate form of ex gratia payment from your employer. Otherwise try and negotiate some payment for the 14 mile each way commute.

Yes it is a rock and a hard place situation and one that happened to my office (after 2 previous stays of execution when, 2 other offices closed instead) a few years after my retirement. Of the nearest available offices, two were each 25 miles by road (no rail connections), the third a 30 mile rail trip along a very congested mainline, all distances from the closing office.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales
