She hasn't ordered from anywhere but does do competitions on a regular basis. The "order comfirmation" has a zip file attached to it which to me usually means spam BUT it has her address & telephone number on the email too

Can anyone help with this?

If it was a competition win it sounds like it would be on it's way anyway - so I would ignore it, if a prize turns up, if not then you haven't missed out on something.

If she hasn't ordered anything and is worried, I would keep an eye on my bank or paypal - only by logging in to my accounts through the correct log in, never through an email link.

Upon researching a bit, I have come across some posts on blogs that state this is a fake site, even though they have your details, they are listed as a fake and malware site. DO NOT open the link and you were right to check first. If in doubt ever, never open the attachment and check your accounts regularly.
Thank you to everyone who posts competitions and good luck to everyone who enters.

NEVER click on links and NEVER click on attachments in emails that you are not 100% sure about. Doing so can very possibly infect your computer with a virus or worm and allow someone on the Internet to access your computer, data and keystrokes. They could then watch what you are doing whenever they like, or use your computer to infect or attack others without you knowing.
BTW, no-one that you don't know will attach a zip file.

I never ever open any attachments unless it's something I expected and from someone I know. I get quite a few of dodgy emails, a couple of weeks I got one from UK Mail with some delivery information attached but I never opened it. Surprisingly it turned out to be genuine and a prize but still I would never open a link, if it's a win it will turn up anyway.
  • Hi,

Just received the same. It includes my name, and an old address without the number. It hasn't got my telephone number.

There is no attachment but a link! I will delete.
  • Just got around to joining after many years ..... yes, just had the same e-mail and as good as it looked with full address and phone number something seemed very wrong. Thanks to all for confirming my policy of if you don't recognise it, then bin it!
  • I've received the same e-mail today. No idea how or from where the detail comes from -its a worry but I never click on the links just delete the e-mails. Sometimes there is a marketting company behind them where you can delete your data but not on this occasion.

    So frustrating.. be safe people

  • Hi

I received exactly the same email as Nobby. I am using a Desktop MAC. I stupidly clicked on the link and got a response saying that the file was too large to download and that I should try a desktop computer. Does this mean that my MAC is still safe? I have used Bitdefender and Malwarebytes and they come up with nothing. Would appreciate any advice.
    Thanks
