As you may remember I won a holiday late last year.
It's been incredibly slow going getting the details of the holiday ironed out.
Basically the promoter Global Radio handed me off to the airline and to the tourist board (well their Euro rep anyway).
The flights I got sorted quickly, although tickets arent coming until close to the flight.
The holiday part has been tough going though. I've been in touch with them since November but nothing has been confirmed to me yet and its approaching squeaky bum time.
The hotel was used by the NFL for SuperBowl so this got in the way and they are sorting out an itenerary of activities for me which is great.
Over and above the stated prize I appear to be getting credits to cover taxis, entry to some attractions, some meals and who knows what else.
It's just driving me a bit nuts have to chase this up all the time, and still no really get anything in the way of confirmation. I'm not ungrateful, just slightly worried and bit frustrated.
Anybody else have similar experiences when they have won a holiday or similar?

Yes - a bit! I found it exceedingly bum-squeaky right up to the weekend before we went! Confirmation of flights came very late and all the way to the airport we were sure we'd be headed back home the same day! I also felt that I had to mail the prize provider way more than I would have wished and I'm sure she thought me a prize pain in the derriere. However - it did all come together and it was a completely fabulous experience - I'm sure yours will be too! Good luck!0

I've won 2 and thankfully not had any issue with either. The first was a 3 night break to france which was handled direct through superbreak.com and the second was handled by a company called Neon Agency and it was booked. Both booked quickly and with no issues0

Have had many holiday and short break wins over many years. Some go like clockwork sone like hard word. My advice is to keep banging on and if they confirm anything by phone ask that they also send it by e-mail so you have proof .
You will also find that some hotel roll out the red carpet because you are a winner some try to give you the basic room because you have not paid . If you want to change any element of a win do ask the promoter or hotel and offer to pay if you need to . We asked to have an extra couple of days on a holiday to Iceland and got away with not having to pay though the flights we chose might have been cheeper.
Our worst nearly mishap was turning up at Frankfurt airport in December for the Christmas market in Heidelberg to find the onwat journey had not been arranged for us. Luckily some people were late for their minibus pickup and they driver had waited for them . We had to pay upfront but got our money back . Enjoy your holiday .0 -
Just in case take some cash and cards with good credit available so you are not left stranded if things go wrong and keep all the receipts if it does (I don't think it happens often but better safe than sorry).
Have a read of this one (Things were sorted out in the end but funds were needed on the holiday)

I won a cruise and everything was organized by one person who constantly kept me in the loop regarding flights and transfers, she even put us up in a hotel for an extra night at their expense as flights over to Greece didn't coincide with ship boarding.ours was organized by the cruise line got passed through a few people before that.so glad we were lucky enough to have a smooth experience.:)0
