Survey instructed halifax

Hi all
If our survey has been instructed with Halifax is this a good sign? Very nervously awaiting the outcome 😕

    they don't do the full case until everything is in
    Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

    It depends how the case has been handled really.

    If I've got any niggling doubts with a Halifax case I'll request they hold the valuation until they're happy with everything else first to safe guard the val fee.

    Our broker said it doesn't need to go to the underwriter. He's spoken to the manager at halifax and if all ok with valuation then an offer should be sent out.

    Don't all cases go to underwriter though? Or is it done first before the valuation is instructed? Thanks

    My full application has gone through to Halifax and they have instructed a valuation, not sure if it has passed through the underwriters yet though. My broker is very bad at keeping me informed beyond telling it it will take upto ten days from submission to hear back.

    The underwriting process very much depends on the handling of the case by your broker and the strength of your credit profile.

    With a decent credit profile it's possible to have a case agreed subject to valuation in one day.

    Thanks, so if my case was now only subject to valuation then my broker should know by now? The application went in last Friday.

    Does the application go to an underwriter after the valuation comes back for them to sign off?
