  • That is fantastic. I'm taking DGS to Steve Irwin's Zoo when he comes down shortly as he loves crocodiles. I'll have to show him this picture as well.

How did you do it? Maybe I could do a little one  and put a jelly baby in his mouth.

And I've realised I've given mrbad the opportunity to update his CV to include:

"makes middle-aged women laugh with pleasure"

Hey....I can't take any credit for this one!

But I really, really wish I could! :D
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

Wow that is so great, how do you make those slits in the bread, any chance you can do a 'before it goes in the oven' piccy next time you make something like that ? I'm useless at guessing what something will look like when cooked and the snake I attempted looked just rude :o

    Morning Guys ,

Really glad you all like him! But I feel like SUCH a fraud as he wasn't my idea , I JUST COPIED HIM!!!!!:o

I saw him in a bakery window and copied him, there's no skill involved!!!!

Really it's just like making a figure with playdough. I make enough bread mix for 2 large tin loaves. The body and tail take up about 3/4 of the mix. You roll him a body and then flatten him. Bend his tail round which ever way you like , it's not scientific!! Then It's just a series of "little rolls" stuck on make his legs and nostrils. Make sure you really flatten his nose, little pricks with a fork stop it rising too much. His spikes are just made by snipping the dough before it's baked with a pair of scissors, my tadpoles do that bit! The eyes are royal icing and cherries and the teeth are just icing, although this is best done the day after when he's really hard. When He's completely cold , slice into his muzzle longways to open his mouth, then it can be propped open with the gingerbread man.

As for the mice and hedgehog rolls, I have never taken a photo of those or though I will this year! They are REALLY easy , but again I only coppied them too!!!:o

Just make little bread rolls in the normal way. The hedgehogs have a pointy snout so just pull the dough out a little. Their spikes are again made by snipping the dough. Sprinkle poppy seds on top to give them "texture" and 2 raisins for eyes.

The mice have 2 big snips which come up like ears and a long "worm" of dough for a tail and raisins for eyes.

It took me a few goes to gat it all right , but it's not a waste as Mr Frog and the tadpoles just ate the experiments. Again I feel I must point out that it's completly coppied from someone else!

Thanks for all your kind words, I guess now you can see why I like doing it because everyone really loves him:T
