First class stamp

This maybe a daft question but for postal comps, does it need to be a first class stamp? I wouldn't usually enter via post but find myself with some surplus second class stamps and recall many moons ago when the t's and c's were listed that it used to say use a first class stamp but now I can't see any reference to it. Any help much appreciated.

I don't use first class and I don't think any comps I've entered it states must be first class unless I've not read properly.
I don't think it matters as long as it gets there before the deadline0 -
The only comp I've seen on here recently that stated first class stamp was the one for the house.0

It's extremely rare for a comp to say what type of postage you need to use, for postcards I always use 2nd class, some entry forms in envelopes I will use 1st class depending on how far away the end date is.You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

If it's a long end date or at least a week I'll use 2nd class, if short date then 1st class.0

I always use second class, first class stamps are too expensive! Saying that, I've never won a postal comp...I just enter and forget...hoping to win something!0

I always use 2nd but I heard today that the price of stamps is going up again!"And may the odds be ever in your favor."
