Morning all
Not sure if this is the correct board but does anyone know how I can get rid of silver marks I have now got on my black trousers? Obviously I didn't iron them correctly and now have to walk about with silver streaks on the legs!
I think I should have maybe used a damp tea towel over them in the first place, but a little too late now.
Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated, many thanks in advance.

I seem to remember that Bill Clinton had the same problem.
Perhaps an e-mail to him might provide a solution ?0 -
Sounds like you've melted the fabric a bit, you could try gently brushing it with a suede brush?Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Are these streaks from a steam iron? You could try turning them inside out, spritz with a little water, then *Dry* iron over the top.
Have you tried re-washing them and pressing them again?
Couple of other things to consider for the future:-
Make sure your ironing board is well padded (especially for wool and delicates).
Iron inside out whenever possible (especially on dark colours)
Use a press cloth (a pillowcase?)
For some fabrics, e.g. wool, use steam or press with a slightly damp cloth, using light pressure.
Always iron delicate fabrics, inside out on a low temperature setting~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

when ironing black trousers, use the iron as a press instead of an iron. ie, dont run the iron back and forth up and down the leg, press, lift off, press another bit, etc... that'll stop them going shiny.0

how about using a trouser press?
i have been thinking of getting one of these as teenagers expensive trousers get ruined by these marks and we always seem to end up arguing. i get accused of using 'cheap tack' powder etc
are they any good, i thought trouser press might sort the problemNice to save.0
