Hello People
First i would like to start by saying thankyou for your advice if you give me some :-)
I started a debt management plan with the CCCS approx 1year 6 months ago, i really didnt want to go down the bankrupcy route if i could help it and so decided to setup a plan with the CCCS. They have been very very helpful, however that is not the case with my creditors. I have five in total Natwest, loan with tesco, credit card with tesco, halifax and barclay card and i pay my debt management arranged fee every month however on my statements for the credit card the halifax and tesco are infact charging me more than the arranged payment to them in interest and late fees. I am guessing you may know where i am going with this. My plan which was going to be finished in 5 and half years isnt going to be as the credit cards are adding more on every month rather than me chipping away at what i owe them.
Could anyone out there please advise me on what i could possibly do to have the credit cards agree to not charging me the interest as if they continue in doing so there isnt any point in being on a plan and makes me feel that even tho i have tried to sort my mess out it wont work in the end. I would like if possibly to avoid bankrupcy, does anyone know where i could get some advice if you chaps dont know how i could sort this out which i am hoping someone will be able to here. Thanks for taking the time to read my little problem and thanks again for any advice give. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Marti

Hi
Big hugs to you - I can only imagine what a nightmare this is - I have not been on my DMP for as long, but it seems that some of my debts have gone up too! It's so frustrating!
What have CCCS said about it? Perhaps ring them and explain your frustration and see what they suggest? Perhaps others will have more suggestions as well.
Sea xxxxCCCS DMP:Feb 07
Total:£37,016.47 now £0 DEBT FREE FEB 14
2022 Decluttering Campaign 49/10110 -
I would also suggest ringing CCCS and see if they can apply some pressure on these two creditors. It really isn't in their interest (scuse the pun) to keep adding money to the account. After all you may just give up and go bankrupt if you can't see any progress. Then they would get nothing.
Hope CCCS can help
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Have been working in debt counselling now for 14 years. In EVERY letter sent we request that interest be frozen. This is VITAL .It also make the clients feel great in that they can see the debt reducing each month....
I can say with all honesty, that this request has NEVER been refused.
Sadly, as we are not a registered charity, we have to charge a nominal fee and therefore cannot and will not advertise on this great site , but because of being small as opposed to a large organisation like Payplan & CCCS we have time to keep an eye on responses etc.
The above companies are doing a great job, but because of the huge number of cases generated, they may not be able to give the time to address the issue of the interest being frozen.
I would advise a phone call or e-mail to them to nudge them along.0 -
Hello thanks for your posts. I have spoken with the CCCS once before when i realised what was happening. i was so unhappy to see that even though i was trying to pay back cash it wasnt going down but infact going up!! They advised that they would send another letter to them requesting the interest was stopped, That was some months ago now so i aint sure what they did but it hasnt work. The CCCS before i had even finsh what i was explaining guess which creditor was charging lol which i got the idea was a daily thing with the halifax. I have since looked closer to find that tesco aka bank of scot are also charging massive interest. I know i got my self into a situation and i am trying to get myself out but the more i think about it the more disappointed i feel that i aint gonna be debt free in the time the plan is set for. Unless Unless i win the lottery and i doubt that will happen :-(0
