Ccj and mortgage

Myself and my partner are thinking of buying a house. We have been to see a mortgage advisor and our affordability is great given our age. We want to buy my sisters house, which also means we do not need to pay a deposit as long as my sister drops 10% of the valued price.
However I have a CCJ on my account which I was unaware of until I logged on to Equifax. On the statement it says the CCJ has been inactive for 17 months, but I am unsure what that means???
I havent got any letters or emails for the CCJ so I don't know where to start?!
Also, the CCJ is linked to an old address as we have moved since. Really stuck on what to do because we will not get an opportunity like this again. My partners credit rating is great but he does not earn enough to have the mortgage, and I earn the largest amount but my credit rating is poor.
Really need some help, can we still get approved? and what does it mean if it is inactive? The court date was 25.08.2015, which i was also unaware of.

This can be possible however with the limited number of lenders available to you I believe your Sister may need to give a bigger discount for LTV (loan to value) purposes.I am a Mortgage BrokerYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Broker, so you need to take my word for it.

So it would still be possible even with a CCJ?
Do you know what it means by the CCJ being inactive?0 -
I'm not familiar with that to be honest as I'd typically see a CCJ recorded as either active or satisfied.
Can I assume you got the report from either Experian, Equifax or Call Credit?
In answer to your first question, yes this can still be possible with a CCJ in theory however I believe you'd need more equity left in the property.I am a Mortgage BrokerYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Broker, so you need to take my word for it.
