Hi all, can an employer deduct an hours pay from your wage if you forget to clock out?. Tried researching it but there's a lot of contradictions

What does your statement of terms and conditions say?Signature removed for peace of mind0

There's nothing about it in the t&c's but it does say they reserve the right to change the t&c from time to time, and that employers will be notified by way of general notice. They have pinned the notice up in the staff room last week. Does this cover them?0

Would this take you below minimum wage for your pay period (ie not for that day, but for the month, if you are paid monthly)? But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Not for the month no.,but it would for the day. If anyone of us ever forgot to clock out before, then the manager could countersign it, but now we have been told no-one is allowed to countersign.0

They have basically told us that any employee who forgets to clock in or out of any shift will lose an hours pay from that shift.0

Easiest way to deal with this would be to not forget to clock in/out at all, then any deductions would not be an issue.
Surprising that something so important which affects your pay is something that people forget about so easily.0
