Is anyone else watching dispatches?

I hope it's ok to post this but please remove if not!
I'm just watching the dispatches programme about food shopping going up. And the 'shrinkflation' they're talking about is pretty bad! I'm not sure I'd notice half of their examples!
Just wondered what other people thought of it all

I haven't been watching it but from Twitter people seem to be suggesting prices will go up by 5%. That would be an extra 50p a week for me, I think I could probably claw that back by buying less. I've worked out (roughly) that I could save about 17p a week by having one less cup of tea per day which won't do me any harm. That level of price rise will be manageable for me.
I haven't seen it so can't comment on how likely they are to be right or wrong in their predictions - I generally take financial predictions with a pinch of salt as there are so many variables. Plan for the worst but hope for the best is my motto (though so far I've not seen much of the best I have to admit!)0 -
I saw it. Skipped over in one line the fact that goods from outside the EU might be cheaper after the removal of EU import tariffs. And didn't address at all the amount of food wasted due to it being the wrong size/shape for the supermarkets. Still it seems we have to expect a 5% increase overall, but we shall see.0

As the population is well overweight (myself included) perhaps we should buy, and eat, less, then shrinkation can work for all of us.
I did watch the program and thought it was very negative, typical anti-Brexit stuff.0 -
I did not see it, but I guess I could catch up on the iPlayer if it's interesting. I tend to listen more to Money Box on radio 4 for financial news.
I agree with the other posters with regard to waste, both the amount of food being thrown away by households and by supermarkets. To think it used to be illegal to throw away food years ago!It is not because things are difficult that we dare not venture

Did it?
We throw very little food away. I bought 4 bags of chillies reduced from 60p to 6p & chopped them up and froze them.
Any leftover veg is blanched & frozen.
But I do meal plan which I think helps to cut down on waste.0 -
