Possibly a very silly question and an obvious answer but....

Hi

I have had a mortgage offered by NatWest for a house that I have an offer in on. However there are a few issues and I'm thinking it might be best to cut my losses now and I'm wondering if I pull out of this house purchase and find another, will my present mortgage offer still cover a house of the same value or would I have to apply for a fresh mortgage?

Many thanks for any help you can give.

  • A new mortgage, as a mortgage is secured on a particular property, not just x thousand pounds worth of 'stuff'.

They will let you transfer your application, you'll have to pay for a new survey obviously, but you should be able to keep the same rate that you applied for (if they've gone up)
