Applying eye make with glasses - tips needed

I need quite strong reading glasses now am older and by and large don't bother with mascara/ eyeliner much. But would like to use mascara in particular as my eyelashes need all the help they can get now. Of course it's often in evening I want to put it on when light is trickier. Any tips? I was wondering about the makeup glasses you can buy online (can't see that Boots have any to try) but they don't seem to get very good reviews with people saying the frames get in the way or other problems

  • Buy a magnifying mirror, preferably one with lights on it.
You can buy mirrors with varying degrees of magnification now.
  • i use a X7 magified mirror to do all make up and x10 to do eye make up as i need glasses. I also use a desk lamp to give more focus to the face, I find it works really well. Lisa eldridge and pixiwoo gave make up tutorials for eyes'- they both gave more more confidence.

Use a good mascara that does not flake off and keep the upper lid bright and sparkly if you would like a simple look with plus strength glasses.

Life is too short to stick to rules for eye make up fully so experiment and enjoy new looks'- I like to maximize my magnified eyes because the glasses are strong I might as well draw attention and make it a positive.
  • I do mine from memory these days...

Magnifying mirror is the way to go. I have one from Boots which IIRC is x7. Scary!
