I have a list that would choke a horse this weekend, so I think I'd better write it down.
- Walk dogs [STRIKE]x4[/STRIKE] x3
- Feed horses [STRIKE]x2[/STRIKE] x1
- Feed sheep [STRIKE]x2[/STRIKE] x1
- Yoga x2
- Laundry
- Ironing
- Sew up small rips in horses' rugs so they're ready for use when the weather turns in a day or so
- Plaster as many corners and ceiling joins as possible downstairs down the road ([STRIKE]one left in living room[/STRIKE], 9 in kitchen, 4 in bathroom, [STRIKE]5[/STRIKE] 1 in hall, I think)
- Watch DVD borrowed from the library as it has to go back on Tuesday
- Pay the cleaners, pay the heating engineer, pay the oil company
- Get a head start on next week's transcription jobs
:D:D Waiting to hear back about whether what we're planning is feasible, so watch this space....

- Sew up small rips in horses' rugs so they're ready for use when the weather turns in a day or so - horses had pottered down to the bottom of the field out of the wind and seemed unbothered, so this has gone to the bottom of the list.
- Plaster as many corners and ceiling joins as possible downstairs down the road ([STRIKE]one left in living room[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]9[/STRIKE] 7 in kitchen, 4 in bathroom, [STRIKE]5[/STRIKE] 1 in hall, I think) - I had to lift Jack over a fence this morning and thought I was okay to plaster, but two ceiling joins later a muscle in my lower back had tightened up round the sciatic nerve and was sending shooting pains down my right leg every time I stepped on it, so I retired injured and took ibuprofen until the muscle relaxed. All fine now
- [STRIKE]Watch DVD borrowed from the library as it has to go back on Tuesday[/STRIKE] - it was a sheepdog training DVD and did have some useful tips, though I severely disapprove of some of the methods used on it. If I have a dog who's being sticky about lying down, I'll take it away from sheep, work on sharpening up the response and then try again with sheep present, not physically force it to the ground and then hit it on the head several times when it tries to get back up again :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: The recording was made 15 years ago, but I thought we were a bit more enlightened than that in 2002.
- Pay the cleaners, pay the heating engineer, pay the oil company - not done
- [STRIKE]Get a head start on next week's transcription jobs[/STRIKE] - technically, yes, although it was all of three minutes'-worth!
A busy weekend and I didn't get quite as much done as I'd hoped, but hey ho. Now watching the end of the Masters, as some bookmakers are paying three extra places and I have four golfers in with a shot of hitting one of them for a good win. (The money comes from laying just the standard places at the exchange, so the place part of your each-way bet wins at the bookmaker, but also wins at the exchange.)0 -
I decided that this morning's first job needed to be to tidy my desk and I feel a lot better for it
The cleaners have been paid and money has been transferred out of the offset to my business account to pay for the balance of the underfloor heating installation down the road and the oil delivery we had down there. Nearly £5k, which is a bit ouch, but we're definitely nearing the end of the big spends on that house now.
This week's jobs (which will probably spill over into the Easter weekend) include sorting out my IACS form (the one which allows me to receive agricultural support from the EU), which has to be in by May 15th, getting my accounts sorted for the year (probably horrendously negative!) and getting some more stock listed. Typing jobs include 3 hours from NEL and 2 files coming in from Journalist #3 tonight for the end of the week, plus I need to sort Mr RPC's accounts for the quarter as well, because it's VAT return time for him. I'm stopping at 2pm today though, as I need to go and have my glasses fitted at the optician - I get a free pair every two years on their contact lens scheme and since the frames I currently have are now 23 years old, I thought it might be time for a change!
Also did a signature update and we've ticked over £30k paid off the home mortgage0 -
I think I may sort of accidentally be buying another house. No details yet, as I don't want to jinx it, but if we can (a) borrow back our mortgage reserve (i.e. most of what we've paid off), (b) get a buy-to-let mortgage for £127,000 and (c) get a rental valuation of £650 a month, it should go through.
Please cross your fingers and watch this space!0 -
Credit card shuffling details, while it's fresh in my head from just having worked it out. Nationwide, bless them, have sent me a 0% transfer offer after I cleared my card off with them last month, available up until the end of June, for 18 months at 0%, 2.9% fee. 95% of my limit, which is (and I need to double-check!) £5,700 x 0.95 or £5,415.
The next 0% to expire is the Barclaycard that was an Egg, which runs out on 1st July and has £4,700 on it. Now, I could wait until June to make the transfer, but I think I might be better off doing it straight away, as that gives Barclaycard a couple of months to realise I'm not using the card and offer me a cash transfer, which would then take care of all the other Barclaycard (0% runs out on 1st August) bar £535 - and as the minimum payments on Nationwide are 1% as opposed to Barclaycard's 2%, that's just under £150 of that taken care of simply by dropping the minimum payment on was-an-Egg. That would mean no 0% deals (of mine, anyway, Mr Minx is a slightly different matter) falling due until October 2018, by which time we should have completed the purchase of the croft land under the holiday let and be able to get a mortgage on that to pay them all off.0 -
Wow all going well at your end Minx!Must use my stash up!0

When I was doing the cc shuffle you couldn't shift a balance to another cc of the same bank. Will you be able to get BC to accept another BC balance?

Sorry, lazy typing on my part - you're absolutely correct, I can't do a Barclaycard-to-Barclaycard transfer, but usually as well as a balance transfer there's a 0% cash transfer available, so I take out the maximum cash and pay it off the other card.0 -
Ah I see. I think there are more deals allowing that these days than 10 years ago. Good luck with it all.CCs @0% £24k Dec 05 £19,621.41 Au £13400 S 12600 Oct £11,981 £9481 £7500 Nov £7250 D £7100 Jan 6950 F £5800 Mar£5400 May £4830 June £4660 July £4460 Aug £3200, S £900, £0 18/9/07 DFW Nerd 0420
