Freezing hummus?

I quite like making my own hummus, but I'd like to be able to freeze it in small batches so I can be all virtuous and take little pots into work with me in which to dip some carrot sticks etc.
It is OK to freeze hummus without it going all horrible? I usually make it, then have to eat it several days in a row, or worse, bin it after a week because I'm wondering about its safety.:o
It doesn't have to be restaurant quality.
Thanks

Thankyou, today i was thinking about making my own hummus, but as it is only me that eats it decided it would be daft, I would throw away more than I could eat. I will look out for some small containers so I can freeze homade hummus in individual portions.Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. I freeze this all the time.
If you want to be really virtuous, try making hummous without so much olive oil and instead used onions fried in a little butter and garlic.
I am addicted to the onion hummous from Tesco, but it is quite high calorie.
This reduces the calorie content substantially and is quite delicious even though I say so myself.
I don't freeze it in individual pots. I just lay a sheet of grease proof paper in the freezer, put blobs of it on, then when it has completely frozen, put it in a plastic bag. You then take as much or as little out as you want.0 -
For some reason, pots of hummus from the supermarket always say 'not suitable for home freezing'. However, when there were a couple of pots going cheap at the Co-Op I decided to give it a try, and had no problems at all.'Never keep up with Joneses. Drag them down to your level. It's cheaper.' I think that's because the oil separates slightly and they don't want a load of customers coming back saying it's gone off0
