Oak/ Wood Bedroom Furniture

Hi Guys

Im after some bedroom furniture, 2 bedside cabinets and a chest of drawers, maybe a double bed frame. I want wood furniture and preferably oak. Where can i buy such items without paying a fortune like oakfurnitureland? I dont want cheap rubbish but i want to pay a reasonable price for reasonable quality furniture. Dunelm seems a bit more reasonable is their stuff any good?

Thanks ;)

Oakfurnitureland is cheap, the wood is laminated blocks like kitchen worktops. Oak is expensive to buy so oak furniture is expensive. Veneered oak is often cheaper and doesn't have the same likelihood of natural movement. If you really want quality oak, you are better off looking online for second hand.

Ok thanks. Maybe ill have to look for cheaper wood furniture, £300 to £400 for a chest of drawers is a bit rich for me.

I dont have to have solid oak, what other woods are cheaper as i dont like pine. I will have a look online for second hand but my problem is i dont have transport for collection or bulky items.

    How about mango wood?
although I don't know if it is cheaper than oak...
  • Mango wood is fine too, i already have some mango wood furniture. I guess i will just keep looking at wooden bedroom furniture until i see something that catches me eye and does not have eye watering prices.
