Can anyone confirm that this is a hard search? (I think it is) and that if this has been carried out the credit check has been passed. Husband is currently telling me that a full search can't have been done yet as they only do it after full application has been received

He's also just came out with I may have over estimated my basic by £500 and my overtime by a couple of hundred cause it changes (he's guaranteed £520 a year and even with his basic he's passing affordability on the calculator for Leeds, I was wondering why he was asking me about different affordability bloody calculators.) I know this will be picked up, but will they amend it or what? Or reduce the amount he can borrow?

Two years off cigarettes and I'm sorely tempted to smoke just now!!!

Seems to be to be a full credit check.

In regards to the affordability, obviously it would be re-calculated based on what the actual figures are, however whether this will impact on your application is another matter, were you looking to borrow up to the maximum available?

I wasn't sure if they'd send it back for him to amend? On affordability with amended figures it says they are happy to lend between 51670 and 54720 depending on credit and he is asking for 50k. Their criteria is 100% guaranteed and 50% regular. He is guaranteed £520 a year BUT his overtime is regular (daily basis but his manager is refusing to sign off on more than an hour a week) where he is earning at least 2k in overtime. He didn't realise that they would only use what his manager says he is guaranteed as guaranteed! He thought as all his payslips (other than when he's on holiday) have at least 5hrs a week, they'd take that.

Overtime isn't guaranteed however regular it may have been paid in the past. To be guaranteed at any level it would need to be a contractual entitlement. The fact that the employer is saying an hour a week. Suggests quite clearly that it isn't guaranteed. Should work levels drop then it's purely basic hours.

Ah right. It's the way his work, works now. They used to put in their contracts that they'd get X amount of overtime, but then people started to get fed up as they were always expected to do it and it was no longer a choice so they took it out.

Leeds BS accept 50% of regular overtime so he should still pass affordability, but will they not accept 100% of what his manager is saying he's guaranteed as it's only an hour?
