Stopping self employment just into new tax year

Hi everyone. I will be closing my business on 8th April and receiving income from it probably until 12th April. I will fill in the online form to tell HMRC I am no longer self employed but what happens about my 17/18 tax return, as I will be leaving the UK (possibly for a very long time or forever) in June?

No reason why you can't submit your return online before you close the business0

You can fill in a tax return online from abroad or post it in from abroad so it shouldn't be an issue.0

Thanks both. So if I submit my 16/17 tax return on the 6th, can I do the 17/18 one the week after for those few days I will have earned?0

You can't do your tax return until the tax year ends.0

I see... Should I give HMRC my address abroad? I just don't want to miss it and get in trouble for what is a couple of hundred quid earnings!0
