Supermarket points value
Options
Has anyone done a comparison on the points reward value of supermarkets?
For instance Tesco offers 1 point for each £ spent, and a point is worth 1p in vouchers. By comparison Morrisons offers 5 points per £ spent but each point is only worth 0.1p.
Spend £100 and get £1 voucher at Tescos but only 50p at Morrisons.
I'd love to see how other supermarkets compare if anyone has worked it out.

and you have therefore to spend £100 before you get a £1 voucher.
No idea about Morrisons as I don't have one near me.0 -

Therefore the reward at tescos is £1 per £ spent but at morrisons it is only 50p per £ spent.
I'd love to see how other the supermarkets compare.
Either of those rates would make loyalty schemes well worth while0 -

You can get up to 4 times the value of the Tesco clubcard points by using them elsewhere - so £100 spend gives you up to £4 back
In sainsburys - nectar card is 1 point per £ . 500 points = £2.50
so £100 = 50p back ( though you have to use in blocks of 500 points )0 -
Why focus on the points? ASDA doesn't offer points but ASDA Price Guarantee ensures that the price of a basket of shopping is at least 10% less than Morrison, Tesco and Sainsbury for comparable products (subject to Ts&Cs). Which is better 1p-4p worth of loyalty points or a 10% lower price?
Boots points are worth up to 4p for every pound spent but items can usually be found much cheaper elsewhere.
Not forgetting that stores such as Iceland, ALDI, Lidl may offer products of equal or higher quality for even lower prices.0 -
Funny you should ask this, Which? magazine has done a 3 page spread on this very subject in the March issue.
Thier opinion is they are rubbish.
Also they have done 2 other reports on which supermarket is best and worst and the other I can't remember at present as I don't have the magazine with me.
Worth a read if you can get a look at a copyy.Has anyone done a comparison on the points reward value of supermarkets?
