Precise mortgages

I have got a decision in principle from Precise through a mortgage broker. The broker helped with my house search and recently had an offer accepted. I have now been told that precise won't lend on the property as its an ex council property!!! I am confused.....shouldn't I have been informed of this criteria before going ahead and making an offer? Has any one else had this experience?

It's very difficult to go through every possible exclusion in a lender's criteria and send you out to view fully armed like a broker himself.

Did you make clear to the broker you were looking at ex-local authority property?

Sounds more like an Estate Agent than a mortgage broker.

  • They are a broker but they also provide other services
  • I was looking at Precise and it does say they don't lend on ex-council amongst many other types. Try magellan?
  • Sorry to hear your predicament, did you have to pay any fees ?
