New Mattress

Looking to purchase a new double mattress.
Apart from lying on it to tell whether it is comfy or not, I am left totally confused by all the options of types available. Am not so keen on memory foam as have heard it radiates heat back and I'm a hot sleeper!
Is anyone able to tell me what is generally the best in terms of value for money, quality, longevity etc. Is there one particular brand that is the best?
I live in SW so only shop available is Dreams. Budget is max £650, but would be more comfortable paying less than that as also have to fund a new frame as separate purchase.
Many thanks

Your local library should have back copies of Which, so perhaps look at their investigation into buying mattresses: http://www.which.co.uk/reviews/mattresses?source_code=911CRJ&gclid=Cj0KEQiA25rFBRC8rfyX1vjeg7YBEiQAFIb3b32ZGAxwPmiwV_OhZVDJsVFjtCUtEk1KHJN3TiTn_W0aAjxM8P8HAQ&gclsrc=aw.ds&dclid=CNq87O_dl9ICFQsw0wod_FYGLg0

There are loads of types of mattresses for different peoples styles of sleeping, this becomes harder to make a decision if you share a bed with someone who sleeps differently to you.
This is a good website to explain the different types of mattresses:

This article from Which is also good at simply breaking down how to choose the best mattress for you:

Hope that helps
