    Thanks Lopsyfa; you're right, I'm overthinking it! We're just desperate to secure a new house. I won't do anything rash, we'll just take it as it comes and see what happens. :T
    Total Debt October '14 (LBM) = £38,287.28
    Target = New House in 2017!
    Paid off so far: £19587
    Still to go: £18,700

    I was advised that if you haven't ticked or said a card/loan would be paid on completion (without using the mortgage to pay it) then it was taken into account with your affordability. If you have said it will be paid on completion (or within 30 days of) the lender will request to see this information.

    If you've passed affordability with these things in play I wouldn't go playing around and potentially have your mortgage declined because you wanted your finances to look better.
