First time buyer- Mortgage query

Just a query in relation to being a first time buyer and chances of getting a mortgage, I started working in the UK in June 2016 and still currently working 2 jobs but they are both zero hour contracts- I work full time+ hours per week consistently between the 2 jobs and have payslips to prove this. My bf has full time perm contract and is English. (I'm Irish). We are aiming to have a decent deposit of 30,000+ but I am just wondering in relation to me working zero hour contract what is the chances of being accepted for a mortgage, Any info/advice greatly appreciated. Thank you

I would recommend speaking to a mortgage broker but my partner has a zero hour contract and we have just been offered a mortgage so it is definitely possible! He had to show 6 months worth of pay slips and he does have very consistent hours. Hope that helps

You can try a fee free broker:

There should be lenders but it probably is worth while speaking to a broker just to improve your chances.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Hi,
Usually you would have trouble if you only have a 5 or 10% deposit. If you have £30,000 to put down there will be plenty of lenders happy to lend you the money.
I recommend asking a mortgage advisor - fee free would be good, but they are normally tied to a lender so have limited access to the market.
A lot of mortgage advisors will only charge you when your mortgage is secured. The best option is to ask around a few mortgage advisors and see what they have to say.
Try somewhere like this: http://mybigmove.co.uk/find-the-best-mortgage-advisors
I can almost guarantee an independent broker will get you a mortgage. (almost guarantee, don't hunt me down if they don't!)0 -
I could be wrong, but that looks very much like a lead generation site where they will just sell your details on to a mortgage broker.Try somewhere like this: http://mybigmove.co.uk/find-the-best-mortgage-advisors
I very much doubt there is anything to substantiate the brokers on that site are any better than any other broker, infact you could argue that if they are having to buy leads they are not getting enough referrals or repeat business?I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Thanks everybody for your replies, it's a relief to know there's hope. I guess a broker/ mortage advisor is the way forward. Also I presume a P60 is generally required? Hopefully we can start looking once I have that through at the end of tax year
