Lloyds Credit Card

Hi guys,

Had a Lloyds Visa Card which they switched to a Mastercard a few months ago. Spent a bit of money on the visa and was going to clear it all off but with them switching the cards over from Visa to M/C I've noticed that I am not paying any interest on the outstanding balance.

I figured this was some kind of introductory offer for allowing them to switch my cards (I didnt pay close enough attention to the notification letter the sent me). Anyway i've been slowly paying this off and concentrating on other debts which are charging interest.

To cut a long story short, I contacted Lloyds today to enquire how long this interest free period was going to last and was informed 'as a result of an administration error I should have been charged interest for the past 3 months but have been getting away with %free'. The helpdesk chap said that he wouldn't inform anyone and that I should just keep quite and take advantage of this.

Basically, has anyone had any experience of this or is this chap yanking my chain? My monthly statements still say no interest (which I'm happy with) and will pay the card off in full once I suspect interest will be charged.

cheers,
FatJock

  • I had a lloyds visa that was transferred to a mastercard. Although I clear the balance the estimated interest is noted on the bill. I had no offers!! Think you may just have been slipping through the net

    HI

I'm not sure about this at all - but surely if it was their error and they have no charged the interest, they shouldn't be able to then chrge it all? Perhaps you could post this on the credit card forum - someone on there might be able to help more :)
